Not seeing much progress...advice?

Slow progress is still progress. The first couple of months are the adjustment phase - it often kicks in properly after that.

Early discouragement on GLP-1s is common - the internal changes happen before the scale catches up. Non-scale indicators like energy, sleep, and appetite quality fill the gap while the number lags.

A super responder rate of 15 lbs the first month and then slowing to a consistent 1-2 per week is actually the ideal pattern, not a problem. Staying on the low dose as long as it's producing 1-2 per week is the exact right approach. For the OP who's discouraged, the question is whether any appetite suppression is happening at all - if there's none, the dose may need to go up; if there's some, it's doing its job.

4 weeks is usually the window to make a dose decision rather than waiting longer. Dropping from about 2 lbs per week at 4mg but still losing is actually a good progression - the number looks smaller but the consistency at a higher dose is a better long-term baseline. What's hunger suppression feeling like right now and how long have you been on the current dose?

The scale's inability to distinguish fat loss from water retention and muscle gain is the root of most discouragement at this stage - a persistent deficit produces fat loss whether the scale confirms it day-to-day or not. Trending the weekly average over 3-4 weeks is the only meaningful signal from the scale early on.

Weirdly my appetite went up once I bumped to .5. Only lost about 6 pounds so far despite a solid calorie deficit and hitting my step goals. Taking shot number six tomorrow.

Started at 237.8 back on Feb 19, sitting at 217.8 as of June 4, so 20 pounds over 3.5 months, moving, just painfully slower than I'd hoped.

Agree with my doctor that lifestyle and diet shifts would help most, easier said than done though, solo parent, only income earner, juggling school too, the stressor list is long. Was hoping for the bump to 1mg, guess I'll wait and see, maybe think about a new doctor meanwhile.

Thanks for the input! Shot day is tomorrow. Might try splitting the dose across the week and see how that plays out. Wasn't sure if going back down to .25 would set me back given I'm already used to .5.

Pretty similar starting weight to mine, though I'm only a month in. Started at 2.5 and just had my first 5mg dose this week.

Aiming for 80kg myself, glad to see you getting the results I'm chasing. My struggle's severe diarrhea hitting day two or three, those two days really tank my motivation. Basically bedridden and barely moving during that stretch.

This stuff takes time, it'll come. Only dropped 4 pounds myself on 2.5 over a full month, better results usually show up once you move to 5mg. Stay hydrated, keep protein up, eat like normal.

You mentioned losing 12 pounds, but what was your starting number?

Then you say you're sitting between 186 and 190 now. Hard to tell if that means only a little extra came off, or if some crept back on.

These medications only really deliver results paired with smaller portions plus enough protein and vegetables.

Staying active matters too.

Here's where things stand so far (6'2"; starting 286, currently 283, targeting 185)

First seven days at the entry amount, then bumped to double that for the next two weeks.
Every dose across this stretch has been split into two shots roughly every three and a half days. Started that way in week one and just ended up preferring multiple injection days, so kept the pattern going.

Been grinding through workouts five days weekly (kettlebells three times, rowing machine five times, weekends off), staying hydrated with around three liters daily plus electrolytes. Also keeping calories under 1400 daily while hitting my protein target, currently around 137g and working toward 160g.

First three weeks showed barely any movement on the scale, but just recently caught my first real drop after a workout, which is at least encouraging. If meals weren't leaving me satisfied, I'd wonder if I got a weak batch.

My guess is being totally new to structured exercise after years of doing nothing, combined with electrolyte and water shifts, is masking the actual progress somewhat. So bumping the dose up right now feels premature. My lowest weigh

Really like that you eased in slowly and titrated gradually. Know several people, myself included, who saw genuinely strong results at these smaller amounts, though what we lost was considerably more than four pounds over two months.

Given you're only at four pounds after two months, I'd say increasing the amount makes sense, assuming everything else checks out fine.
