Not seeing much progress...advice?

Hi everyone, feeling pretty discouraged and hoping for some words of wisdom. I started on injectable weight loss meds about a month and a half ago. I did the first month at the .25 dose, and I took my first .5 shot a few days ago. I've only managed to lose around 6 pounds. At one point, I was down 9, but then gained 3 back, and I can't figure out why. I'm tracking everything I eat, getting at least 110 grams of protein, and only drinking water. I'm trying to get more exercise. I'm eating well. I have to fight really hard not to overeat. My appetite is slightly less, but not as much as I thought it would be. The food noise is still there, not as loud, but still noticeable, and I'm hungry again like an hour after eating. It just feels like after this long, I should be seeing and feeling more. Will this get better? Am I just not going to respond? For context, I'm 5'3". Started at 261, currently 255, my goal is 150. I have a long way to go, and I'm worried it won't work for me. Thanks for listening!

Don't despair! It's still early days, and those starting doses are mostly to get your body used to the meds. A lot of folks don't get real appetite changes until they're on higher doses, like 1mg and up.

Some things to remember:

1. 6 pounds in 6 weeks is actually really good. That's a sustainable rate.
2. Your weight can change day to day by several pounds just because of sodium or water. It's probably why you gained some back.
3. Even a little less food noise is a good thing!
4. With so much to lose, give your body time to adjust. Some people take longer to respond but still get great results higher up the dose ladder.

Stick with it. There's a reason for the slow increase schedule. These things take time. A lot of people here say things really clicked around 1.0-1.5mg. You can do this! 💪

Similar situation here. Trying to stay positive and think of it as a marathon, not a sprint. I wish my hunger was more controlled, but hoping a higher dose will get me there.

You aren't failing. Those starter doses are just that: starter doses. It's to get your system used to the medication. A lot of people don't get real appetite suppression until they get to .6 or even 1.2. Give it a few more weeks before you worry.

It sounds like you're doing this pretty much alone. That may be part of the problem. The hunger an hour after eating might mean you need to adjust your macros or your titration schedule. Without a care team looking at your actual patterns, it's hard to know. It might be worth talking to a professional who can help you with those details.

You aren't broken; you just might need some tweaking from people who know what they're doing.

Sending hugs your way. It takes time. Six weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Check back in six months. You got this!

I could have written your post - actually, I started to, but I deleted it because I was afraid of being told I was doing it wrong. I'm microdosing, and my max is .7 mg. I'm at .4 mg, and so far, nada. So frustrating! But I'm right there with ya, feeling the same.

I'm in my eighth week and gained 4 pounds. I'm at the gym all the time, drink mostly water, and eat pretty well, getting 110-140g of protein every day. I'm craving sugar all the time. My Doc says it's hormonal and will even out when I'm at my full dose. I guess we just trust the process! Hang in there!

I was skeptical at first. Luckily, my online provider gives simple instructions-increase/decrease by 5 units (0.125 mg) based on how it's working and any side effects. I started in early December at 0.25 mg and I'm now at 1.125 mg. It helped, but I didn't feel like it was a "miracle drug" until I hit the 1 mg mark. I am 5'2", Started Weight: 240, Current Weight: 210, Goal Weight: 145. I've struggled with my weight my whole life, and this is the first time that making better choices has felt sustainable and not like torture.

It's frustrating now, but when you hit the right dose, you'll be so glad you hung in there!!

Don't quit!!! I lost almost nothing in the first few months (3-5 pounds). After 7 months, I've lost about 15 (I know it isn't a lot), but I didn't have much to lose! I feel great, and people have been noticing. I'm now off it, and this is my first week without it. I'm terrified of gaining it all back!

I saw someone on another forum say they were on 1 mg for almost a year and hadn't lost anything, but they also admitted they were getting into edibles. The advice they got was pretty blunt: you still have to put in the work! Cutting out the edibles was key for them.

I'm with the others who say to stick with it. I didn't really start seeing results until I got to the higher doses. It can be really disheartening at first, but your body will adjust. You're doing all the right things with your diet and exercise, so just be patient and trust the process.

This makes sense. Just hit month one myself and haven't felt much shift yet, but I'm staying patient. Seeing other people's wins really does help me believe in the process.

Amazing work and inspirational! What habits are you running? Or did you see the shift without major changes? Just asking because I'm stuck on a plateau right now.
