Okay to stay on a tiny dose of Ozempic?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
The logic of taking what insurance will cover at the lowest effective dose is reasonable, but the eating-less point applies regardless of which dose you're on. For the OP at 135 and 5'2, the goal is probably a 10-15 lb change which some people achieve at very low doses without going higher. The insurance coverage question and the clinical dose question are two different problems.

Health anxiety improving alongside the weight loss is a connection more people report than you'd expect. 50 lbs in a year with a 5-month gap is still a strong result and the anxiety piece improving too is worth noting for the OP. Staying on a lower dose long-term when it's also doing something for the anxiety side has a different calculus than just the weight piece.

Sounds painfully familiar to my year running ozempic, ended up landing at a tiny amount every other day since that was enough to blunt hunger without heavy nausea. Thankfully other options in this drug class have treated me better with less queasiness. Think the logic here is basically right about finding the correct amount, but ideally scale back roughly ten percent to hopefully hang onto much of the hunger control while shedding some nausea, or move to spacing doses out twice a week instead.

Wrapped up my first four weeks and sat down with my GP, honestly a bit let down to hear him say bumping the dose wasn't needed since 0.25 was already doing the job. He did clarify though that increasing dose was never really the point. The actual goal with ozempic is staying on the smallest amount that still works.

If the side effects are getting rough, I'd drop down and just tolerate weaker appetite control until your body adjusts to that level.

The two smallest doses are basically there to ease your system into the medication. Once you hit the next tier and above, that's where the real weight loss impact kicks in.

My endocrinologist had me begin at 2.5, guessing she just wanted to play it safe, though I've seen plenty of people around here start straight at 5mg or even 7.5mg transitioning off 2mg Ozempic!

10 pounds off that starting amount is genuinely great! A good chunk of that is inflammation clearing out of your system, and there's a decent chance that alone is easing things, maybe even helping that knee issue.
You're not supposed to drop weight at the initial amount. That stage is purely about getting your body accustomed to the medication.
Same goes for the first dose bump. Still prep work, getting you ready for the actual therapeutic level. On Ozempic, that therapeutic threshold sits at 1mg.
You really can't measure your own progress against someone else's!! That includes whoever was enrolled in the trials behind these titration timelines!!
What's your daily protein number look like?
What's your current calorie deficit sitting at?
How much water are you supposed to be drinking daily?
Any electrolyte intake happening?
These are all things worth knowing, not just for the weight loss itself but to keep you healthy through the process.
Also genuinely suggest keeping the drive-through trips down to a bare minimum. All sorts of additives and chemicals in that stuff can throw off your endocrine system and overall metabolism, potentially working against your goals. Not saying cut it out entirely, but maybe aim for monthly instead of weekly.
