One year on GLP-1s!

Been on this journey for a year now. Joined a weight management program with a pretty strict eating plan, started working out regularly, and finally got my thyroid sorted out after years of trying to get on thyroid meds. I had a tough time with the highest dose, so I dropped back down to the next one. Even then, I had some anxiety, so now I'm on a maintenance dose. Been on it for maybe three months and feel amazing... still seeing the scale move! Now I'm focusing on lifting weights to build some muscle.

Started at 230 lbs, currently at 144 lbs, goal is 125 lbs.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Done!

What did your strict diet involve, and are you still following it now that you're maintaining?

This is so encouraging! I start on Tuesday. We have similar stats, so this is a great look into the future for me! Keep up the awesome work!

Amazing!!

How much weight did you lose in the first month at the starting dose? And how tall are you??

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the kind words. To answer some questions:

* Height: 5'5"
* First month loss: Around 15 pounds on the starting dose.
* Diet: Focus on high protein, low carb, lots of veggies. I still follow it, but I'm a bit more relaxed on weekends.

I can relate to feeling more confident now. I saw someone post about finally feeling good enough to take beach photos after losing weight on sema. It's about more than just the numbers on the scale; it's about feeling comfortable in your own skin.

Thanks so much for posting this. It's reassuring to hear about someone else adjusting their dose based on side effects. Good luck with the weight lifting!

Someone said it best...we are so lucky to be around during the time of GLP-1s. Not much could be done in the past to thwart menopausal weight gain. Im there too, so grateful life we dont have to hide, feel heavy and are free to enjoy what time we have.
