Oops! Messed up my 4mg dose 🤦‍♀️

I add about 1ml of 2% lidocaine per 50mg of GHK-Cu. Red spot but no itch or pain. My dermatologist uses less than that for biopsies, so I figure I'm way under.

first injection is tomorrow and I'm freaking out. ate pasta and breadsticks tonight and now I'm wondering if that's gonna wreck me. it's like 24 hours out from injection time. starting at 0.25 and took the weekend plus monday off work just in case. trying not to talk myself out of this - been waiting months.

Okay, so I usually inject 1mg from my 4mg pen twice a week. But this morning, my brain went on vacation, and I think I might've accidentally injected 3mg instead of 2mg. Now I'm panicking! It was a brand new pen too, so I can't even tell how much is left. Anyone else use the 4mg pen and know what it looks like after one dose?

Better to be a little light than a lot heavy, right? I'd just stick to your regular schedule, and if you end up with a tiny bit extra in the pen at the end, consider it a bonus! It'll even out.

Quick question for Jules2006: Why do you do the 1mg injections instead of just using a smaller pen? Seems like a lot of fluid to inject twice. Or is the higher dose pen not available where you are?

You'll definitely feel it tomorrow. I accidentally gave myself a double dose when I took my injection earlier than normal one week. It was a day of feeling pretty bad. Just stay close to home and be ready; it might be a rough few days.

Adding to The_Lady's comment, dose tracking is super important! Many patients find it helpful to not only track the dose but also the injection location. Some evidence suggests that there may be slight differences in absorption based on location. Rotating injection sites is also important to prevent skin irritation.

Interesting about the injection location. I've heard some people swear the stomach works best for them, while others prefer the thigh. I guess it's a matter of personal preference and how your body responds.

This is so true! I had a nasty red bump for a week when I didn't rotate spots. Now I make sure to switch it up.

The 10:1 zinc to GHK-Cu ratio recommendation comes from the copper-chelating property of GHK - copper and zinc compete at similar receptors, and the zinc titration is meant to keep the balance. 50mg zinc every other day alongside daily GHK-Cu is reasonable; track whether zinc symptoms like nausea or metallic taste appear as a signal to reduce.
