Hey everyone,
It's been a full year since I began using Ozempic. I've gone from 176 pounds to around 128 pounds, and honestly, it still feels weird to say that out loud.
Before 2020, I was in shape. I did kickboxing workouts and never thought my weight would become a problem. Then the pandemic hit, and I lost my routines. Virtual hangouts with friends meant lots of drinks, and stress led to ordering a ton of unhealthy food.
By early 2021, I was in a bad place. I had ended a really awful relationship, I was super depressed, and I even had liposuction to try and fix things. But instead of feeling better, I felt like I had wasted my money because I kept stress eating. My weight went up. I couldn't even look at myself. I just kept making my own efforts fail.
I eventually saw an endocrinologist because I thought it might be my thyroid. All the tests came back fine. I still remember looking at the doctor and asking why I was so overweight and what I could do about it. He just told me I needed to eat less. It was a hard truth, but I needed to hear it. He prescribed Ozempic, and it really changed things.
Now, my BMI is 23.6, my visceral fat is 6, and my metabolic age is 43, which is close to my actual age. It's been a long and expensive 12 months, but feeling good in my clothes and my body has been invaluable.
Ozempic isn't magic. I felt some nausea at first, but the biggest deal was how it stopped my nonstop cravings. It gave me a tool, but I still had to put in the effort.
My smart scale still says I'm "thick set." It thinks I should be "balanced skinny" at around 115 pounds.
Maybe someday, but I'm happy with my progress. Anything else is a bonus.
It wasn't an easy path. I messed up a bunch, but if I got this far, you can too.
Sending good vibes to everyone on this journey!
