This is truly depressing. Obesity and socioeconomic status are heavily linked. I'm in healthcare revenue, and about half our patients are on Medicare or Medicaid. Covering Ozempic would save them crazy amounts on comorbidity expenses. But, apparently, they want you sick and broke.

It's so frustrating. I see patients losing significant weight and improving their health on these medications, and then their insurance pulls the rug out from under them. I worry so much about the rebound effect.

I've heard some pharmacies have cash-pay options that are way cheaper if you don't use insurance. Worth checking!

I've heard about online services that can prescribe GLP-1s for a monthly fee. It might be more affordable than paying out-of-pocket for the medication itself, Avery. Just be careful and make sure they're legit before giving them your money.
