Ozempic - How are you getting it?

I saw someone online mention that their insurance wouldn't even cover a WEANING off the medication, because their BMI got too low. That's insane! I wonder if going to a compounding pharmacy and doing a low 'maintenance' dose is the best option for long term?

That sucks, but congrats on losing the weight! As for maintenance, I've heard counting calories and lifting weights helps.

Been on 17mg tirz for a while with zero issues. Stacked with sema starting late Nov at maybe 0.5–1mg. Going well till my sleep got messed, blamed the sema, cut it out last couple weeks. Sleep's still bad so probably not the sema

. Since you've been on 15mg tirz long term, stacking sema might beat going higher on tirz. Didn't notice much between 15 and 17 mg myself.

Had gallstones from weight loss, stopped meds for a bit. insurance dropped me after. found a vial in my fridge that's been there a year, not cloudy just condensation, within date. should i use it?

caremark kicked me off mounjaro and wanted me to try ozempic, then wouldn't approve that either. just tried getting zepbound approved and got denied because i hadn't done wegovy yet. so frustrated!

Access has expanded a lot through telehealth. Specialized weight management platforms with their own prescribers, compounding pharmacy options with varying price points, and for people already seeing a prescriber for other metabolic conditions - just asking is often enough. Insurance coverage is still inconsistent but worth checking current employer plan categories.

Endo Rx plus telehealth fill is one of the cleaner access paths when insurance denies. The cost is real but having a specialist on record helps with any future appeals. Glad it's working.

The access frustration runs both ways. Ozempic was approved for diabetes first, and diabetic patients navigated shortages before the weight loss wave hit. Priority by indication makes clinical sense even when inconvenient. The compounding market and tirzepatide opened a parallel path that has eased some of that competition.

First reconstituted vial is always the learning curve - the draw technique matters more than most people expect going in.
