Ozempic Journey - Thoughts after 1.5 Years

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Hard to buy from a salesperson. My SIL talks about being friends with JC since forever and brags his company's killing it. Yet she never once said congrats on my 60 pound loss and lectures me about peptides. That stings.

Been on this for about 3 years and I've shifted my injection schedule many times. My advice: keep a log of when you inject. Makes tracking way easier and stops you from accidentally doubling up.

Quick note - if you get an HRT script, there's a crazy shortage of estradiol everywhere now that FDA removed the boxed warning (long overdue) and tons more ladies realize it's actually safe and helpful. We're all switching pharmacies constantly to keep supply running. And seriously this never happens with men's drugs.

by not following the basic instructions you're still at 1mg after three weeks. weight loss is a side effect—it takes time. don't blame the med. maybe it won't work for you but you haven't really given it a proper shot yet.

Five years in and still occasional - that tracks with what people report here. It tends to stay episodic rather than constant, which is livable. The 'it always passes' framing is the right one.

PCOS driving BP and prediabetes alongside the weight is the exact mechanism GLP-1s address most directly - the off BP meds outcome at 330 to 260 is consistent with what the research shows for metabolic syndrome cases.

Honestly not sure what's behind all my shifts...before starting the first compound my heart rate variability sat in the mid-30s and now nine months later it's dropped to the low teens. Resting heart rate went from 69 to 74. Breathing rate moved from 19.3 down to 16.6. That said, I also shed 41kg (90lbs) in that stretch and went from barely moving to walking 12-14k steps daily. Blood pressure normalized from a 140/100 average and I've come off blood pressure medication entirely.

Dropped 75 pounds before starting the second compound, and my numbers went back to healthy levels once I came off blood pressure medication entirely. For roughly a week my readings ran too low and I'd get lightheaded standing up.

So my doctor pulled me off the BP medication and things leveled out. Averaging 105/73 now without any spikes. Wild how fast that responds once weight comes off.

I'm actually on this medication for glucose management. My fasting readings sat between 7 and 9 for years and my prior diabetes medication couldn't budge it.

Worked almost immediately, appetite dropped noticeably within days at the lowest dose. Fasting numbers now average 5.1 with no spikes. Briefly tried the next dose up but scaled back to the smaller amount since it was already handling things well.

Telehealth and probably some fibbing about her actual weight, honestly. On the topic of pre-diabetes, pretty confident there hasn't been a confirming blood test, but it's likely resolved regardless. Started out at a higher weight with borderline elevated bloodwork and blood pressure. After a few months on this medication, dropped a solid chunk, bloodwork moved into normal range, blood pressure normalized too. So the doctor gave the green light to stop blood pressure medication. Down a substantial amount now and planning to keep going until reaching a healthier weight range, then shifting to a lower maintenance amount.

Yes.

My prescription came through for PCOS along with insulin resistance and general weight management. Initial PCOS diagnosis had my blood sugar marker at 6.5, later dropped to 5.7. Doctors don't believe it was true diabetes since my glucose stayed fine the whole time. Spent a full year counting calories and only managed to lose 10 pounds. After two and a half months on the single-pathway medication, I'm down 30. Also noticed my inflammation and bloating have dropped dramatically. Also getting my period more often now, used to be maybe once every three to five months.

As for appetite suppression, only the first week was genuinely hard to force food down. Didn't get as sick as some people describe though. Did deal with nausea, fatigue, and headaches, all of which cleared up by week two or three. Back to eating normally again after that. Most days I'm eating around 2000 calories now, sometimes more. You won't necessarily feel actual hunger, but you'll still eat during normal meal times. Also stuck with the lowest effective amount, which happens to be the starting amount too.

Same thing happened here. This medication's treating both my type 2 diabetes and my kidney function, both of which are back to normal ranges now. My doctor actually told me to stop actively dieting, and within a few weeks of just maintaining, the low blood pressure issue resolved on its own. Everything's held steady since then and my labs across the board look better, kidney numbers especially improved faster than expected.

Was that the medication doing the work? Or was it just catching up from months of periodic undereating? Could nutritional gaps have played into it too? Honestly no way to know for sure, especially since I already run high on uric acid and lipids on top of eating carefully for both kidney and blood sugar reasons.

Could be my body had just reached its natural limit on how much weight it would shed, and the drop in blood pressure was simply the signpost it used to show that.
