Ozempic kicking in LATE?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Not the original poster, but mind sharing how Oz just didn't work out for you? I'm basically a non-responder myself and wondering if we're dealing with the same thing.

Appreciate that, but honestly do you think two weeks is enough runway for Ozempic to prove itself? Genuinely torn on whether to switch back right away or push through a few more weeks first.

Ozempic never delivered for me personally, that mental food chatter stuck around and I kept caving to cravings regularly. You're likely underestimating your actual intake. Switched over to Tirzepatide paired with Metformin and I'm finally seeing real progress. Bonus, that food noise disappeared entirely.

Currently at 2mg on ozempic myself. Doctor bumped me up because that food noise came roaring back. Helped for maybe a week before it crept in again. Closing in on nine months total, just past 30 pounds lost, and honestly I've made peace with the slow pace. He wants me to give this dose a fair shot before deciding on a Mounjaro switch. Reading through everyone's replies here, sounds like that's the direction I'm heading. Up in Canada, so I'm guessing full price applies for Mounjaro? Can't complain about my hundred dollar pens for now though!

Been taking this drug class for three months now. Zero reduction in food noise. Barely any weight lost. Putting real effort into protein, fiber, water, and eating enough overall. Bumping up to a full milligram tomorrow. Genuinely hopeful this finally kicks things into gear. The sugar cravings have been absolutely brutal.

Hi, just came across your comment while scrolling through the community hoping to understand this medication better. Still dealing with the same side effects, or has your situation shifted at all? Would appreciate a quick update on whether that was purely a first-week thing or something that stuck around. Thanks so much! Hope you're doing better regardless

Adjusting to the Ozempic starter doses takes around 8 weeks, and most people have assorted symptoms in that window. Around the second month things settle. Some lose little until the key doses, 1.0mg and up. Be patient.

Which dose are you at? My hunch: you haven't yet climbed to a dose that works. My path went the other way: ozempic first, zepbound after. Same issue on ozempic, hardly any loss during the first quarter, and I only started losing once I reached the max dose. I switched to zepbound since food noise lingered on ozempic and it caused lots of GI trouble for me, in particular aggravating my reflux. Delay any switch till you've tried a higher or top dose, then change if nothing improves.

My own drug is Zepbound, but my sister uses Ozempic. She felt nothing at .25 mg, nor after moving to .50. Then, a month into .50, she suddenly began feeling some appetite suppression. No nausea or vomiting at all.

Weight is leaving slower than I hoped on Ozempic, creeping off. Calorie counting drives me nuts, so I'd sooner pick smarter or higher-protein foods when hunger strikes. Tips welcome. Thanks

Yes, rybelsus did nothing for me, but ozempic is working slowly. The effect is a bit weaker than what I hear from others, but it's about a pound weekly on ozempic versus zero on rybelsus. Plus I get no noticeable side effects.

you almost stole my own nickname there lol. for me it took something like six or seven weeks before i felt anything at all. had that exact experience with ozempic you're describing, expected to feel that very first .25mg dose the next day and just didn't.
