Ozempic lawsuits are picking up - are the stomach paralysis claims going anywhere?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Some people taking ozempic have run into severe side effects, things like stomach paralysis, intestinal blockages, gastroparesis, gallbladder trouble, pancreatitis, and vision loss. There's apparently a growing wave of legal claims forming around this, with people checking whether they'd even qualify to join one of the ongoing cases.

The core allegation points at the manufacturer, Novo Nordisk, for allegedly failing to properly warn prescribers or patients about how serious some of these risks turned out to be, resulting in real harm for a number of people.

Anyone tracking this closely, does it seem like the stomach paralysis claims specifically are actually gaining traction, or is this still mostly early-stage noise?

Lilly's already been putting out warnings about counterfeit and unapproved versions circulating, so between that and the lawsuits it feels like the legal and safety stuff is heating up on multiple fronts at once, not just one story.

These things take years to actually resolve either way, so I wouldn't expect a real answer on whether the claims stick for a long time yet. Early stage noise is probably the accurate read for now.

Kind of skeptical the gastroparesis claims specifically will hold up in court, slowed gastric emptying is a known and disclosed mechanism of how these drugs work, not exactly a hidden risk. Might be a different story for the more severe blockage cases though.

Agree with the disclosure point above. The real question for me is whether the original warning labels were specific enough about the severity some people experienced, not whether the mechanism itself was hidden. That's usually where these cases actually turn, not on 'did it cause this' but 'were people told clearly enough.'
