Ozempic making anyone else emotional?

Has anyone else felt super emotional since starting Ozempic? I've been on it for about a month and a half, currently at 0.5 mg. I've just been feeling extra sensitive and like my usual coping mechanisms aren't working as well.

I def had some mood changes for maybe 60 days? Then it got better. I wasn't weepy, just kinda blah. I'm glad to be back to normal. Stick with it!

Do you menstruate? When I first began semaglutide, I was super emotional for a couple of months. I think it's because as you burn fat, it releases estrogen and messes with your hormones. I stopped taking it for a bit then restarted and haven't had the same issue. Maybe that's it?

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences! It's helpful to know I'm not alone. @Avery_96, that's an interesting theory about the hormones. I hadn't thought of that.

I wonder if the emotional changes some are experiencing are related to improved focus? I know some people have reported improvements in ADHD symptoms. Maybe the brain is processing things differently?

That's an interesting thought! I've definitely felt like my food noise has decreased, which helps me concentrate a little better.

Seven weeks in and hoping it kicks in soon. The appetite suppression is decent but weight loss has been minimal, which is discouraging when you're dealing with cold sweats and sleep issues on top of it. Wondering if I picked the right path here. Just need reassurance from people who've been through this.

I get what you mean about body image issues. It's weird, even though I've dropped about 30 pounds, sometimes I still see the old me in the mirror. It's like my brain hasn't caught up yet.

I totally get the body image thing. I've lost maybe 15 pounds, but I still feel like I look the same. It's frustrating. Thanks for sharing, @Avery_96! Makes me feel less crazy.

It could also be that the rapid weight loss is just a big change, and any big change can mess with your mood. Be kind to yourselves!

Noticed the emotional side shift while perimenopausal. The angry outbursts aren't hitting as hard anymore - feels like something in my mood has leveled out. Maybe reduced inflammation up there helping too?
