Ozempic: More than just weight loss?

Been taking Ozempic since March 1st, 2025. I stand at 5'3.5" and my heaviest was 200 pounds. I don't get on the scale because of past disordered eating, but I take photos to track progress, and I'm seeing a big difference. Side effects have been mild nausea, some constipation, and sulfur burps maybe twice? The best things about Ozempic for me:

1. Quieted down obsessive food thoughts.
2. Fixed my alcohol consumption (maybe 0-2 drinks each week).
3. My acne cleared up.
4. My blood pressure is normal again and I'm no longer pre-diabetic.
5. I feel a lot better, both physically and mentally.

Wow, congrats! You seem so much happier and healthier.

Today I hit my lowest weight in a long time, but it's wild how little the number matters with all the other benefits. And yeah, wearing old clothes is fun, but replacing my whole wardrobe is NOT!

Congrats again! I'm so happy for you.

That's awesome. My doctor said not to try to drop more than 15% a year. You're doing amazing! Can you give me the dose timeline? Did you start at .25 in March? Then when did you go up to .5? 1, etc?

Do you think Ozempic specifically helped with your skin? That's incredible!

It's hard to say for sure, but it seemed to coincide with starting the medication. Maybe it's related to hormonal changes from normalizing insulin levels?

@PureTale That's awesome! Glad to hear you're doing well too. When did you start noticing the weight coming off?

It was pretty gradual for me, but around the 6-week mark, I noticed my clothes fitting a little looser. Don't give up if you don't see results right away!

For those who have lost a significant amount of weight, what have you done to deal with loose skin? I've only lost about 15 pounds, and I'm already seeing some saggy skin around my stomach.

Yeah, slow and steady is definitely the way to go. Rapid weight loss can cause other issues. The ramp-up is different for everyone, so listen to your doctor, and don't rush it.

Started at 192 and I looked way bigger than you do! I'm 5'2 though, now at 185 with microdosing. How tall are you?

When I had surgery my doctor was straight with me about real expectations. He said most people don't actually lose all the weight and keep it off long term. According to him a good outcome is losing about 75 percent of your excess weight, and you should plan on gaining some back around the 5 year mark.

Only tried zepbound myself, here since insurance dropped it. But tirzepatide seems to reduce inflammation noticeably. Waiting for hip surgery and my doctor pushed hard for me to try it for weight and joint relief. Since losing coverage I can feel the difference - hip problems are worse without it. Convinced it made a real impact.
