Hey everyone, wanted to give a realistic update on my Ozempic journey. I'm sharing before (April '24) and after (today, Oct '25) pics. It's been tough, and I'm still working on it, but I'm making progress.
It's hard to post this. Seeing the old pics makes me feel kinda bad, but I want to show the reality. I started on 0.25mg last April. Until around December, my weight went up and down. Sometimes I'd drop 5-7 lbs a month, other times barely anything. It was discouraging! Then in December, my dose went up to 2mg, and things changed. My appetite vanished for a bit, food noise quieted down, and I felt full after a tiny bit. I shed about 20+ lbs in 2 months. Since last December, I’ve lost around 70 pounds total. I'm not sure exactly how much I've lost overall but it's consistently been around 3 lbs per month this summer.
I have a history with eating disorders, so my path might be different. I knew my triggers, and so did my doctor, so I don't track my exact weight. It's about how I feel, not the number. Counting calories always messed me up, so I'm focusing on *feeling good & eating well*. I'm bad at getting enough protein, so I supplement with protein powder, yogurt, and stuff like Fairlife milk. I still eat junk sometimes, but way less! It's still a mental game, so I still worry about ordering too little food. I end up wasting most of it because it's too much. Now I get kids' meals at fast food places, and even those are too much!
I have body dysmorphia, but I can see some changes. People noticed my face first. I can walk longer without getting winded. I feel happier and have more energy. I've been walking more and being more social than ever.
Ozempic saved my life. I don't know where I'd be without it. I'm not done yet, but seeing these pics made me feel proud.
