Ozempic newbie - body shock!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Everybody reacts differently. I was on 2.5mg for 8 weeks and it worked well enough to stay on it for another 8 weeks with zero side effects.

felt it in 30 minutes on my 2.2mg starting dose. food noise cleared, appetite tanked. titrated to 4.4 and staying put. tracking cico the whole time. weight's falling off.

been on mounjaro since november, down 20kg at 7.5mg, need another 10kg. worried about maintenance though. scared of hitting max doses for money and safety reasons. what dose are you on for maintenance?

Just did dose 4 at 2.5mg and ordering next month's supply. Everyone says 2.5 is intro and not really therapeutic, but I've dropped almost 18 lbs in 3 weeks—that's 7% of my body weight. Feeling great, no side effects. Food noise stays gone until the night before my next shot, then creeps in a bit. But everything in my gut and head says stay here.

omg same experience - the day after the second shot is when it really hit for me. having to force a couple bites down just to get something in is such a strange feeling when you've spent years the other way. it does ease up as the body adjusts, gonna take a few weeks.

The small food buffer before or during the peak nausea window is the most reliable near-term fix - a few crackers or some broth prevents the stomach acid from creating the nausea that empty-stomach dosing amplifies. Soup days when appetite suppression is highest is exactly the right approach.

The peppermint gum connection to morning sickness management is the same mechanism - menthol reduces stomach spasms and the minty scent also has a direct antiemetic effect. Worth keeping sugar-free peppermint gum nearby for the first few weeks; the onset works faster than waiting to eat something or lying down. The pregnancy morning sickness parallel comes up often because the first-trimester experience and early GLP-1 nausea are mechanistically similar

the puffy water weight bloat rather than actual nausea is a really common first week thing. taking a week off when the first dose is that rough is the right call. 198 and down 20 lbs means you're already in the window where the medication has a solid track record. how long before things normalized after the break?

It did kick in for me too, day after the first shot. Didn't get nausea or constipation until shot five at 0.5mg, but appetite basically vanished too. Had to keep prompting myself to actually drink a protein shake or pick at some chicken. Lost a lot and just held at 0.5 well past finishing my second 2mg pen. Started back in February and I'm down 40 pounds, about 15%, though I'm still only at 0.75mg currently. Ran it by my doctor, and provided the loss keeps coming while my health keeps trending up, I'll keep slowly titrating.

Started 5mg about a month back and the nausea's been rough. Some mild fatigue too. Currently traveling through Italy and actually threw up on the street after dinner last night, barely even ate anything. So embarrassing.

Spent a long stretch on ozempic before making this switch, and that came with rougher headaches, fatigue, and nausea too. Does improve with time though, so pushing through and dropping to 2.5mg while I'm traveling.
