Ozempic one year on!

I thought today would be a good day to share a transformation pic since I'm wearing the same top! Starting weight: 195 Current weight: 165. I'd still like to drop a few more pounds and I realize I'll probably never be at a "normal" weight on the BMI chart, but I'm pretty happy with where I'm at. Progress pics really give me motivation.

Thanks for posting! My stats are pretty comparable - how tall are you? I'm approaching 50 and 5'3", started at 200 and now I'm 166. About 34 lbs gone since December '22. Gradual, but I'm starting to see the changes!

I think this is a more representative example of what this medication can achieve when used with proper diet and exercise. And I mean that in a good way - the changes are subtle enough that people who see you regularly might not even notice. That's a GOOD thing.

Losing weight too fast is risky and can increase the likelihood of loose skin compared to a slower, more controlled loss. Aiming for less than 2 lbs per week is ideal, and it sounds like you've avoided exceeding that. Well done!

Congrats, almost a year is a huge deal and shows dedication, especially if you've had any unpleasant side effects!

I love your new hairstyle too btw

I can totally relate to that feeling about a 'second chance at life'. My anniversary on Ozempic was just last week (though I'm not on it anymore) and I was telling my husband how I feel like I got a new life last year thanks to some awesome doctors:
1. The endo who prescribed Ozempic.
2. The cardiologist who did the renal nerve ablation and reduced my blood pressure to normal.
3. The urologist who took out a benign tumor from my kidney.

I never thought any of this would be possible!

I'm 5'5", so just a bit taller! It's great that we're seeing results even if they're not super fast.

I needed to read this today. I'm nearing week 4 on the lowest dose and feeling discouraged. My partner says he sees a difference, that my clothes feel looser even if the scale hasn't changed. I'm still exhausted even though I'm working out and eating clean. I just haven't seen massive losses like some people and it makes me feel like I'm failing, you know?

Anyone else in the slow-loser club? Because I was the same. I didn't really start losing until I got to the full dose, which is apparently what you need for weight loss. Then I dropped 10-11 lbs the first month on that dose, and then maybe 3-4 lbs per month after that.
