Ozempic price dropping soon?

So I heard there's talk about some meds, including Ozempic, potentially getting cheaper in the States. Anyone know if this will actually happen, and if it does, will it affect prices in other countries too?

That "new price drop" is the same one that was teased November of last year linking to some press release. Some people just trying to get a little recognition for something that's been in the works.

I'm having a terrible time getting my insurance to cover Ozempic. Any tips? I've been on it for almost 3 years with great results!

Last year the best prices I could find were through NovaCare. I can’t get Ozempic through them because of Medicare, even if I self-pay. So I switched to Rybelsuss and pay $149 a month to have them mailed directly to me. At least for now. Cheaper than it was!

I used to get Ozempic for $70 every three months with my old insurance. Now it's $500 with insurance, or $1,300 without. Had to switch insurance and now the monthly premium is way higher. No more new car for me!

With my insurance, the first month was around $290, but then it drops to $50 each month after. And after June, I don't pay anything for the rest of the year.

I saw on TrumpRx that the higher doses of Ozempic were around $350. Supposedly that's the new price from the manufacturer. I'm not sure if they mail it directly or if you pick it up at a pharmacy. Still cheaper than some places, but I read Medicare and Medicaid might cover it later this year with a small copay.

Yeah, $350/$450 was the discounted price I saw from Novo Nordisk last year and it’s the same on TrumpRx. If Trump can get it down to $200 I’ll give him credit, lol.

I read about this lady who was on a compounded med and her cost went way up. She made a website to track prices. It was confusing for her to figure out the costs... I can relate to that!

Speaking of cheaper prices, apparently the Canadian patent for Ozempic expired in January. That means other companies can start making generic versions. It might take a while for those to become available though. My doc mentioned a cheaper, no-name brand coming out but didn’t have a date.

Yeah, I heard it could be late spring before generics are out, but that's just what I heard!

Just saw that there are like 9 generic brands waiting for approval. They expect prices to drop by over half once they're approved. The brand name might drop too to compete. I think I saw the generics may be here by fall.
