Ozempic price dropping soon?

Was reading about those Canadian generics too. Felix Health is saying changes will happen in 2026. They're supposed to send email updates.
 
If October is when a generic hits, that timing would make sense after the patent situation you're describing in Canada. The question is always how long US manufacturing catches up once there's actually a generic pathway. First-to-file generics tend to come in lower but not as low as they eventually get once there are 3-4 competitors in the market.
 
The patent expiry timeline for semaglutide in different markets is real - India and Canada typically see generic entry earlier than the US because of different regulatory frameworks. The US generics timeline is longer and less certain, but the direction is clear.
 
Living somewhere remote up north means price drops elsewhere just don't reach this area on the same timeline. Still paying full price for Ozempic here. Pretty much guaranteed to be paying more than most, regardless of what changes nationally.
 
Paid $104 in Nova Scotia for the generic version. Pharmacy actually swapped in brand-name Ozempic at that same price since they had some kind of promotion running.
 
Heads up, generic just dropped in Canada and Ozempic's price-matching it now. Best deal's at Costco, running $88 CAD for either option. Just got mine filled yesterday actually. Local pharmacy quoted $103 CAD, they charge a steeper dispensing fee.
 
With a valid prescription, Costco's currently pricing it at $88. The generic runs a bit less, and even the branded version dropped once it had to compete on price. Genuinely nice surprise picking up this month's supply.
 
Exactly right. The moment that generic hit the market, Ozempic dropped its price to keep pace, at least according to my pharmacist. I'm out in BC myself.
