Down 50 lbs, yay! I'm basically at my goal weight, but I'm TERRIFIED of stopping the injections. I'm scared I'll just gain it all back immediately!

Omg, that's amazing! H-Town_Hottie can you tell us more? What was your starting weight, and how long did it take you to lose? I'm struggling with post-baby weight, and you're giving me so so much hope!!!

You really don't have to discontinue. But, if you do, you absolutely have to make lifestyle changes. I'm down almost 100 pounds, and I started strength training and going to the gym to change my body composition, plus focusing on healthy eating. It's challenging, but it feels fantastic and is super rewarding if you stick with it. It honestly improves every part of life. It should be everyone’s priority. I still wouldn't be surprised if I need to stay on it forever. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's not harmful, and the side effects are minimal at a maintenance dose.

H-Town_Hottie, when you first started the medication, the first few weeks, did you notice anything? Like, did you still have cravings or eat more than you were supposed to? Also, did you inject in different spots, or just in your stomach?

Thanks, everyone! I'm still a bit worried about going off completely. I saw someone on another forum talking about how the food noise came RIGHT back. That's what I'm afraid of!

I understand your concern. As someone else said, think of obesity as a chronic condition, like high blood pressure. You wouldn't stop taking blood pressure meds just because your numbers are good, right? It's often a lifelong thing.

I agree with Dose_of_Reality. It's not a mental health issue; it's an endocrine disorder. You can't just control your thyroid with your mind, and the same goes for weight management for some people. If the medication is working and safe, why not stay on it?

I've been on one of these meds for years to manage my type 2 diabetes. It's nearly eliminated my need for other meds. Even though I didn't really have intense food cravings before, I can definitely tell the difference when I had to stop temporarily due to chemo treatments. The cravings came back pretty quickly.
