Ozempic Victory!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
No diabetes here, started Ozempic back in January and I'm currently more than 40 pounds lighter. Our starting BMI numbers were pretty close. Went with Ozempic since that's what my insurance plan covers, and it's treated me well with barely noticeable side effects (a bit of nausea here and there, but never actual vomiting).

I too got put on Ozempic for T2D originally. Lost five pounds, BMI just over 25 at the time, now it's under. Stopped keeping the diabetes in check though, and jumping to 1mg brought some pretty explosive effects. Switched to Mounjaro at 5mg and it's been great. Minimal side effects, A1C back to 5.7. Lost another 3-5 pounds since.

I'm 75, Type 2 diabetic, on Ozempic since February. This morning's fasting blood sugar read 99 mg/dL, and before semaglutide it ran around 120 with some diet changes made a few months earlier. Labs after 2 months gave an HbA1c of 5.9, down from 6.3 (again with diet changes). This month's labs, my first at 3 months on Ozempic, gave 5.4, nominally normal at my age. Apart from the med, my eating improved a lot and my exercise became far more consistent, and 69 lbs are gone, with far more to go.

My Ozempic start was in November since of type 2 diabetes, and lost little weight until I reached 1 mg. Maybe 25 lbs total. I stay on 1 mg because my A1C improved drastically, and there's not much more weight I can spare.

Congrats, that's a great result! My story is close to yours... I began Ozempic during September 2025 with an HbA1c of 11.6% while on Metformin and Gliclazide. Ninety pounds later, on only 1mg Ozempic, I'm at 4.8% and off everything else. It took plenty of effort and lifestyle change, but Ozempic made it all possible!

Ive been on ozempic a year+ for type 2 diabetes. Im overweight. Covid disrupted my routine and my health suffered. My dose began at 0.25 mg and is 2mg today. Nothing visible changed, but my A1C improved a lot; Ozempic clearly helps there, and thats the big shift on my reports. As for weight, nothing moved, maybe a few extra kilos, but Im told that may be muscle from the gym. A slightly better diet too, but nothing major.
