Ozempic + Workout = T2D Gone!

After grinding for what feels like forever--a good 24 months--I've managed to drop my body fat from 38% to around 12%. Honestly, never thought I'd see the day. My relationship with my body has completely flipped; used to loathe it, now I'm all about it.

If I pulled this off, you absolutely can too!

That's fantastic! I've been holding steady at my current weight for a year and a half, lifting weights the whole time, and it really does change how your body looks and feels. Things just kind of settle into place. I was just putting on jeans this morning and noticed my waist has shrunk over the summer. Plus, I just gave away two pairs of shoes because I've gone down a whole shoe size! Down 65lbs, and I'm 50F. So, not exactly young anymore, but my skin's doing okay considering everything. Honestly, I don't get why everyone worries so much about loose skin (not talking about you Salad_Loss, just in general). I'd rather have loose skin and be healthy than still be obese with high blood pressure.

Awesome job, Salad_Loss!

That's amazing! You must do a double-take every time you see yourself in the mirror.

I'm starting out about 30lbs more than you did, but my goal weight is also about 30lbs higher than yours, so I'm aiming to lose the same amount. Down about 30lbs in 7 weeks...it always comes off faster at the beginning, right?

AND your health must be through the roof, especially with reversing T2D. Fantastic work, well done!

Congrats on your new life! You have transformed yourself from the inside out and it is so empowering. I feel like you have learned a lot of compassion on your journey and that will only help you and others as you continue on your path. ♥️💪🏼

My change wasn't nearly as dramatic, but I did manage to bring my A1C down from around 7.5 to the mid-4 range. Dropped over 100lbs in a little over 2 years and just got off Ozempic and metformin about 3 weeks ago.

Still need to shed some belly fat before the abs show up though 🤣 but I hit the gym 3 times a week so progress is progress 😜

So amazing! Thank you for the inspiration, Salad_Loss and research-nerd! Hard work pays off!! I'm hitting the gym every single day, doing both cardio and weights, and really focusing on my diet. This medication is helping me make better choices and I'm taking full advantage. My eating habits are totally different now—high protein, real food. Down about 40lbs since August. About 70 more to go! 💜💜💜

For anyone struggling with cravings or wanting a sugar alternative while on these meds, have you looked into Glycine? It doesn't raise blood sugar and some studies even suggest it can help with insulin response. I've seen some people even use it to sweeten things like cranberries.

Never tried it, sounds pretty safe. Gonna do some more digging though.

I've seen it online as a powder from a bunch of supplement places. Supposedly has some health benefits. Anyone know about the powder form vs. injections?
