Patience is key, newbies!

I've noticed some folks getting frustrated when they don't see results immediately, so I wanted to share my experience as someone who's been there.

This whole process is super individual. You gotta let it unfold and give it time. I've seen people shed like 70-90 pounds in a year. I'm at 11 months and down around 55. Which is still major! Maybe not as much as others, but it's not a race! Bodies react differently.

I started at 223 back in May and now I'm around 169. I'm aiming for 145/150. (Pics in profile).

This is a long game.

I've definitely slipped up along the way and learned a ton. But I keep going because I've regained so much of my life.

Just be patient! 55 pounds might not be record-breaking, but it's what my body did on this medication. And that's alright! Be kind to yourself. You're awesome for even starting this. You're worth fighting for. You got this!

Be patient.

Thank you so much for posting this! I'm about 10 weeks in and only down about 8 pounds. Seems like nothing compared to others dropping 30-40 pounds in the same timeframe. I'm eating healthy, at a calorie reduction, high protein, and workout 4-5 days a week. Some weeks the scale doesn't move at all. I just upped my dose to 1.0mg to see if that helps. I need to remember to be proud of the 8 pounds lost and keep at it. Everyone is different.

I really needed this! I'm also a slow responder...around 20 pounds in half a year. Your encouragement is really helpful!

Totally! Down 30 pounds in 6 months and feeling so much better. Congrats on your 11 months, too! I had weeks where the scale didn't budge, but I'm still so happy I started. I hope everyone hits their goals, but it takes a solid year of effort.

People seem to forget that gaining weight isn't an overnight thing, so expecting to lose it that fast is unrealistic. I gained 20lbs over four years, and it's taken seven months to get rid of it. Now I'm working on another 20. As long as I'm not gaining, I'm good.

I'm impressed by your success! And thank you for this post! I started 2 months ago and have lost 7 lbs but still have about 50 more to reach my goal and was losing hope. I really needed to see this. You look great.

It took me a while to find the right dose. Dont be discouraged! Its def not a race. Took me a few months before I found my sweet spot

I've been on this journey for a few years now, first with one med, then another. It's been gradual, but I'm fine with that. However, I'm going through a bit of a crisis of identity. I've been heavy since childhood and always wore larger clothes. It's weird getting used to smaller sizes now. I was wearing XL/16 a few months back, which was wild to me.

If you started exercising at the same time you started the medication, it's possible you're gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat. So, you might be reshaping your body, which is awesome!

That's amazing progress! Congratulations on shrinking down! It must feel surreal to shop in different sections now.
