PCOS weight loss win!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Five pounds weekly at the start isn't extreme for someone running that far over normal range. That's only a pound above the standard 1-4 lb target. Raw likely won't keep that pace anyway, which is probably fine.

Tired of quick weight loss through starvation like I used to do. This time around I want to actually understand what drives me to eat. Tirzepatide makes the physical part easier so I can focus on the real issues underneath.

So happy for you! You look amazing! Did your PCOS symptoms improve across the board or mainly the metabolic and weight side? I'm curious whether fatigue, cycle regularity, pain got better too or mostly just the insulin piece.

Getting prescribed when you have clear clinical indicators like PCOS and the doctors are still pushing back is incredibly frustrating. What did the conversation with your doctor look like and what finally got them to agree to prescribe? The OP's PCOS result is exactly the use case the medication is indicated for.

The PCOS and stubborn fat connection to the medication is one of the more interesting emerging stories. The insulin sensitivity piece from GLP-1 is probably the main mechanism for why some PCOS presentations respond differently. Definitely report back on how your girlfriend's experience goes - that kind of data point is genuinely useful.

PCOS and these meds really do feel like they were made for each other for some of us. the combination of the metabolic piece and the hunger piece addresses things that were always working against us. congrats on the win - and yes, get the people around you on board with their own health too

You've done incredibly well, genuinely happy things are feeling better for you. PCOS is no small thing, and anyone who's never dealt with it has no idea how lucky they are.

Keep pushing, PCOS makes this so much tougher and you're clearly handling it like a champ. Those arms will even out once you drop that next twenty.

PCOS person here! Ran a body scan right before starting the single-pathway medication and again a few months in, and even though the total pounds dropped were huge, only a small slice of that was actually fat tissue.

The sheer amount of bloating, inflammation, and fluid retention that builds up when hormones are out of balance is honestly wild.

So yes, eating less did trim off a bit of fat, but the real driver behind the bulk of it was finally getting my insulin resistance and hormone imbalance under control.

Also started having regular cycles and my acne and facial hair are almost completely gone after four months.

Completely typical for anyone dealing with PCOS!

Yep! Dealing with insulin-resistant PCOS myself and dropped 84 pounds in eight months eating around 1900 calories daily. No hair thinning, no vitamin shortfalls (aside from vitamin D, which most people need anyway), and no exhaustion either.
