Taking 2.5mg out of a 10mg pen doesnt empty it. After 4 doses, just one full dose has been used up, so its expected. A dial that wont turn any more is a different matter, that sounds faulty.
Similar thing here. I got insulin syringes, drew from the pen, and injected, so you don't need the pen's own needles. The pen holds 1mg and my dose is 0.25mg, meaning 0.19ml since 1mg equals 0.75ml. Same trick works for you.
Quiet Walnut Ha, so you trust the printed marks on a syringe even though those can be slightly off too? Pens are built for insulin, where exact dosing really counts
That first-shot undershoot is usually slack in the pen and the stopper settling in a fresh cartridge, so do a small prime and discard it before you measure. After that your syringe check should line up. Concentration is just vial amount divided by water added, and a reconstitution calculator handles the math.
Got that exact same pen and yeah the plunger stays hidden until you're three doses in. Had the same worry when I first noticed. There's also a fair bit still sitting in there after dose four. Moved up to .50mg at the four week mark and it drops a lot faster once you're on the bigger amount. Are you over in Europe by any chance? Sounds like the folks confused below might be in the States, but I'm running the Novo Nordisk version here in Ireland.
