I'm not familiar with absence epilepsy myself, but I know epilepsy sometimes has unpredictable triggers that are hard to pin down. It's worth considering potential interactions with the compounds themselves, but also the stress response might cause issues. Injecting something new into your body for the first time can be a physiological stressor.
Hopefully, it works out, and you can let us know how it goes!
At first glance, I'd say it seems okay. The only potential issue I see with those peptides is fatigue. But interactions with your current meds are always possible. This is a risk with *any* new substance. The only way to know for sure is to try it.
My standard advice: If you decide to proceed, start with a low dose of one peptide at a time. Wait a few weeks before increasing the dose or adding another peptide to gauge your body's reaction.
I'm not super young but I don’t have any unusual health problems.
Injecting NAD+ causes a weird scalp reaction. It's like my scalp is reacting to the injection site *immediately*. I'm not sure why. It's a neurological response that doesn't happen with other injections. My hair stands on end, like goosebumps. It varies in intensity.
I'd suggest trying one at a time, like @MsGizmo said. One variable at a time is better.
Hey, I have epilepsy too! Mine are grand mal seizures, though, and pretty well controlled with lamotrigine. Peptides haven't been a problem for me at all. I've used Reta and DSIP for a while. I've also tried TB/BCP and ipamorelin. I'll be starting MOTS-C and SS31 soon. Keeping my baseline stable with enough sleep and other healthy lifestyle choices is key to managing my epilepsy - after my meds, of course. I'd seize without them!
If you use any peptides that affect the brain, start with tiny doses. Some can overstimulate neurons. From strongest to weakest: Dihexa, P-21, PE 22-28, cerebrolysin, pinealon, semax, selank.
If I were trying brain peps, I'd start with selank, then semax, then pinealon... low and slow!
I plan to start with low doses of everything to see how my body responds.
DSIP is the only "brain peptide" I'm considering, mainly because I sleep terribly from work stress and some depression. I'm not taking any meds for stress or depression.
I've been taking GLOW for about 4 weeks. No problems with my epilepsy. My knee pain is gone, BUT I'm a little disappointed by the collagen effects. I haven't noticed any difference in my skin or hair, so I stopped taking it 4 days ago.
I started Reta about 3 weeks ago (no impact on my epilepsy). I've been on 0.5mg on Mondays and Thursdays. I've dropped about 8 pounds. At week 4, I'll bump the dose to 1mg on Mondays and Thursdays. (I'll post progress pics later.)
I saw someone mention NAD+ injections and scalp tingling. I've experienced that too! Pretty weird but harmless, I think. Just a strange neurological reaction. Also, PubMed is a great resource.
I would suggest, as others have, to start one at a time with the peps.
I would agree with starting just one at a time. It's smart to be cautious when adding something new to your system. This index has a list of over 65 peptides, their use, and common dosages. It is a good starting point.
