First off, ditch the idea of 'cheating.' You can still enjoy that meal, but you likely won't be able to finish the whole thing. These meds help shift how you think about food. Protein is your friend, just eat smaller portions.

Sounds like performative morality to me. If you genuinely considered that a 'cheat' meal, you wouldn't be taking this medication.

That sounds like a very nutritious meal, not a cheat at all. My cheat would be like...a whole pint of ice cream the night before my dose.

If that's 'cheating,' what do you consider your usual meals? Sounds like disordered thinking. Eating healthy shouldn't feel like cheating. We create negative associations with food that way.

Sounds good, but not what I'd consider a super protein-packed meal. An egg only has about 6 grams of protein. Add a protein shake to that and you're talking!

True story, protein is KEY on these meds! I lost almost 45 pounds the first year, then stalled out. Realized I'd stopped focusing on protein. Started slamming protein shakes, Greek yogurt, etc., and the weight started moving again.

I totally get the 'food guilt' many are mentioning. I went to Italy for a month and was terrified I'd gain! But walking everywhere and the sema, I actually lost weight. It's all about balance.

Good point. I need to be more mindful of getting enough protein. I'm bad at meal planning and remembering to eat.

I agree with LBM_hacker, protein's super important. Calculate your daily protein needs based on your weight and activity level.
  • Lean meats
  • Fish
  • Eggs
  • Protein shakes
It's tough to get enough sometimes, but essential for preserving muscle during weight loss.
