Random barfing on Mounjaro? 🤢

I started Mounjaro early last year and it's been pretty awesome overall. I dealt with some bloating and constipation at first, but those issues have mostly resolved. I'm curious if anyone who's been on it for a year or longer has experienced random vomiting?

Before starting, I had a sensitive stomach, but Mounjaro actually helped! Now, I've identified certain foods that trigger vomiting, so I just avoid them. But this random vomiting is new. It's like, I feel totally fine, no nausea, and then suddenly I'm throwing up. And right after, I feel completely normal again and can eat without any problems. It's happened maybe 5 or 6 times in the past year, and it never happened before Mounjaro. I used to only vomit when I was pregnant or sick with the flu.

Otherwise, everything's great, and I plan to stay on Mounjaro indefinitely! đź’•

I only chucked once, and it was after demolishing a huge piece of Sam's Club carrot cake. Way too rich! The couple other guys I know using Mounjaro haven't had any vomiting issues.

I had random vomiting spells before Mounjaro. I thought I needed to eat a low FODMAP diet. I def get it on Mounjaro if I eat something that doesn't agree with me.

I had constipation issues long before I started Mounjaro... Someone suggested psyllium husk. You can buy it by itself. Just mix a tablespoon of it in juice or water, but DO NOT put the powder in your mouth dry! It can cause choking

Good advice! Fiber is key, but you need plenty of water with it. Otherwise, you can end up with blockages. Chia seeds in my oatmeal work well for me.

The blood sugar drop-nausea connection is real and tends to be more pronounced on SGLT2 drugs than on GLP-1s. The 'suddenly hungry and nauseous and had to eat immediately' pattern is hypoglycemia doing its thing. Good to flag the Jardiance comparison - the mechanism is different enough that what happened there doesn't predict the Mounjaro experience.

The premenopausal symptom angle is worth ruling out alongside the Mounjaro question - the hormonal picture at that stage and GLP-1 effects can overlap in ways that are hard to attribute without a timeline. Bloating and constipation resolving and then vomiting appearing could be a dose threshold issue. What dose change happened closest to when the vomiting started?
