Red spot at injection site - anyone else?

I've used the same brand and size needle for over 2 years, always reordering when I'm out of sema or lancets. I always sanitize the vial and area with alcohol wipes, and I haven't switched brands of those either. For over a year, I never had any issues like swelling, discoloration, or pain at the location where I inject, but for the last couple of months I've had pain/sensitivity and a crimson mark directly after the injection that lasts several days. It's concerning me as this has been going on the last few months and I haven't made any changes. Anyone else experienced this?

I sometimes see a red spot. It could be from the medicine or the metal in the needle. If there's no widespread rash or trouble breathing/swelling, I wouldn't worry.

Hey @ToneLady, this was happening to me for a while. My doctor thought it was a mild allergic reaction that can happen when the dosage changes. (Though I wasn't changing the dosage at the time! haha) She told me to take Zyrtec the day before, day of, and day after. I did that for like 6 weeks and stopped. It really helped with the swelling and itching, and as I said, I don't need it anymore. Maybe try that if you don't have any allergies and knowing that I'm not a doctor. Good luck!

I switched to Triz, but I see them too. It didn't start until like 4 months in. Weird.

I've heard letting your meds warm up a little bit before injecting can help, but I haven't tested that idea yet.

I'm not an expert, but I read that this can happen when the injection is too shallow. Are you getting the needle all the way in?

This started happening when I moved up to 1.0, and it's super itchy. I started injecting into my thigh, but it's still happening. :(

I've been injecting in my thigh since July '24 and I'm down 100+ pounds. A couple of times when I injected in my tummy because I was in a hurry I felt super sick for days afterwards. The thigh works best *for me*!

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind, but I think I'll try injecting a bit deeper first, as PharmaPatti suggested.

Best prices I've seen: Vitality Medical but shipping might be an issue. Got my Easy Touch 31g from Injection Supply (vendor here) and Hospira with a code. Free shipping over $50. My BD's came from Underground Supply — pricier but worth it for quality.

does injection get painful when belly fat thins out? did my regular spot and hurt for the first time. only thing different is less cushioning. need another spot or advice?

just got my Tesa kit, reconstituted with Hospira BAC, took my first shot. stinging in my belly right after—read that's normal in studies. took a hot shower and it helped. does the sting stick around if you've been on it long?
