Restarting GLP-1s: Anyone else?

Has anyone been on a GLP-1 like Ozempic, stopped, and then started again later? I was on Ozempic for about half a year 3 years ago, and gained back around 50 pounds. I've been back on for 3 weeks now, still at the starting dose of 0.25mg. So far, no side effects. Just curious about others' experiences with this.

From what I've read, some people find they don't start losing again until they reach the dose they were at before stopping, and maintain that for a couple of weeks. Since you've taken it before, @Carb_Tracker, you might be able to increase the dose a bit faster. Maybe try 0.5mg next, and then 1.0mg after three weeks. But if you get bad side effects, stick to the regular schedule.

It's interesting to hear about people stopping and restarting. I wonder how many people are using these meds for long-term maintenance, not just weight loss. It seems like once you stop, the weight can come back pretty easily.

That's my biggest worry! I'm afraid of regaining everything if I ever have to stop. I've heard some people stay on a low dose for maintenance.

Maintaining weight loss is definitely a long-term game. A dietary specialist advised that keeping your weight stable in the first year after significant loss is crucial, as your hormone levels need time to adjust. Gradual changes and sustainable habits are key.

That be careful scenario stuff applies. Most attempting very-low calorie diets independent of GLPs will say accompanying symptoms aside from hunger aren't preferable to regular GLP sides. Not saying don't try cagrilintide though - interested reading about solo therapy. Grass may not be greener than you think.
