Reta and explosive 💩?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
ghq is rough for me but a few things help: room temp syringe, upper glutes (no pinch needed), add extra bac water to dilute, and massage the site after.

Psyllium working on the diarrhea and managing it while also adding cagri is useful clinical data for the OP dealing with the acute GI episode. The watery diarrhea at 2mg that improved gradually is the typical course - it usually isn't persistent at the same severity. How long did the episode last before you could manage it and what dose are you currently on?

the side effects at the current dose usually being worst in the first few weeks at that level is the practical context for deciding whether to push through or step back - 'normal and usually go away' is accurate on the population level, but 'shouldn't be in physical pain' is the right individual threshold. there's no virtue in enduring severe GI effects when a dose reduction and slower titration exist

Upping to 2mg and immediately getting violently sick is the too-fast-too-soon response. The timing of the dose jump and the GI reaction happening that night is almost certainly the culprit. Dropping back to 1mg and waiting another 4-6 weeks before trying 2mg again is the path most people take after a response like that.

Running 2mg split weekly, and I'm genuinely stunned that a full month in, every single side effect has cleared up... digestion's back to normal, and last night I actually managed a solid seven hours of sleep, my best rest in weeks.

Genuinely curious whether easing side effects also means the reta's working less effectively, like maybe that early-fullness and appetite-quieting sensation fading along with it. Really want clarity here since I don't want to climb past 4mg and would rather hold at 2mg for as long as possible.

Still not sure whether I caught something or if it was just from nudging my reta dose up a bit. Prefer to believe it was some kind of stomach bug, because there was definitely some explosive diarrhea involved.

A friend of mine started Reta at 2.5mg and has been struggling with ongoing diarrhea as a result. He's discontinued it already, but no relief yet after multiple days. Wondering if anyone's been through this themselves, or has thoughts on what he could try.

Reaching out for a friend who started Reta at 2.5mg and ended up dealing with loose stools that won't quit. Even after stopping, no real improvement several days later. Has anyone run into this before, or got suggestions for what he might try instead?

Random reta diarrhea flare ups hit me too, no clear reason, at any point in my cycle, usually gone in about a day. It reliably happens after every dose increase, around day 2 or 3. Right now I am lounging at home since I stepped up yesterday. I tried a quick Home Depot run and nearly regretted it.

Thought I was dealing with food poisoning after my very first shot of 0.5mg reta. Stomach cramps kept me up three nights straight. Realized what was actually happening once the second dose brought the same reaction right back.

How do you know it's food poisoning or gastroenteritis and not reta side effects? Those can hit hard and fast and look a lot like a stomach bug, vomiting and/or diarrhea. It's much less likely if you've been steady on one dose for ages, but not unlikely when you're just starting or stepping up. It matters for whether you restart reta after it settles. If it comes back when you restart, you'll have your answer.

Rough when you are the one hit by side effects. Explosive diarrhoea is mine whenever the dose passes 2.5. I keep moving up and down and strictly limiting fat most of the week.

Reta doesn't work for me because of stomach trouble. I sat on the lowest 1 mg dose for several months, no improvement. After each shot I felt sick and queasy for 4 days. Bodies differ, so don't force yourself through misery.
