Reta and extended fasting?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Get full pretty quickly too, same as you. But then I'm covered for essentially the whole next day. So maybe that's where our situations diverge. Hunger just doesn't show up quickly for me at all. Also worth mentioning, I do one meal daily, have for years now. Once I added the third compound, still fasting that identical twenty-four-hour window every day, though my total intake's dropped considerably since fullness kicks in after just a few bites. Running a weekly amount around one milligram, going on seven weeks now. Haven't bumped up yet since this level feels like exactly where I need to be. And maybe your sluggish mood ties back to falling short on carbohydrates. Tested this a lot on myself, and since starting this compound my totals have stayed noticeably lower, and whenever I only hit around fifty grams of carbs, waking up the following morning feels genuinely off. No hunger thanks to how the compound works, just totally wiped out and low on energy. Yet on days closer to one-fifty or two-twenty grams instead, everything's back to normal come morning. Worth remembering

Followed basically this exact pattern through my entire reta weight loss run. Last bite of food before midnight, then nothing again until around 3pm when I wake up, since I work nights. Most days went protein shake first, then a light meal, another light meal later, and closed out with a second protein shake, all fit inside an eight to nine hour window I ate within.
Honestly couldn't tell you if it made any real difference. Didn't notice anything particularly positive or negative from doing it that way.

Focus on the long-term physiological picture with reta, if your body's signaling that it wants carbs and sugar, go ahead and give it that boost to the energy reserves. Binge eating would be a different situation entirely, that's not what I'm talking about here. My best results on reta came from sticking with resistance training and cardio, and whenever carb cravings hit, my workouts actually felt fully fueled because of it. Weight kept coming off and my body kept toning the whole time regardless. Eventually, once you hit goal weight, the calorie deficit requirement drops away, and what's left to deal with is the psychological baggage built up over decades of believing certain foods are inherently wrong to eat.

Genuinely envy anyone who can go without eating on reta, my nights involve waking up needing a snack because blood sugar drops too far. Bizarre. Tirz never gave me that problem.

To actually get at your question, skipping food entirely one day weekly while eating at maintenance the other six doesn't strike me as something you could keep up indefinitely. It's not a huge calorie gap in the first place either, probably a couple of days at essentially nothing given how little you'd burn beyond your resting rate on those days.

On the days you lift, more food makes sense so those sessions have the fuel behind them, skip that and strength suffers, weight moved drops, and muscle holds on less well. Rest days still call for solid protein though, that's what drives recovery.

Still, the concept of periodic fasting appeals to me, just not at a weekly cadence, that feels excessive.

Same goes for the carb point, agreed there too. Needing extra time between sets probably isn't weakness setting in, more likely fuel or electrolytes running low.

Any lightheadedness show up during movements that spike your pulse, like squats or lunges?
