Reta - appetite totally suppressed!

My spouse is on semaglutide, but wanted to give retatrutide a shot, so I joined in. I took my initial 2 mg shot a couple of days ago. Almost immediately, my appetite disappeared completely.

I don't usually deal with constant thoughts about food, but I almost wish I did now, because eating feels like work. I need to figure this out before it becomes a problem!

This is my first time with any GLP-1. It's really strange.

I am so envious! When I tried reta, it actually made me want to eat MORE. Not only that, I was craving sugary stuff, which is not normal for me since I usually want salty things like pasta and cheese.

Maybe it's because it's your first time using a GLP-1 med? Or maybe you just got lucky!

The intense appetite suppression lasted around 48 hours, then my hunger started to come back. It's still maybe half of what it used to be. Not what I was expecting based on what I've read. But I guess it affects everyone differently.

I was using tirzepatide for 4 months and then switched over to retatrutide. The appetite control is very different; it's like food doesn't even exist anymore. On tirzepatide, it was still in the back of my mind, but super easy to manage. I'm currently using 2mg of retatrutide weekly after being on 10mg of tirzepatide and like you I get hungry about 5 days in, although without the food noise. I'm betting once I increase the dosage, it'll be similar to tirzepatide.

It's been a few more weeks on 2 mg of retatrutide and my appetite has increased, but it's still reduced overall. It's a good balance actually; for the first few weeks eating felt like a burden. Now, when I know I need to eat, it's not so bad anymore.

If it stays like this, I'll be happy... Haven't stalled yet. 🤞

If you're struggling, try increasing your dose to 2.5mg and see how that feels. I like how retatrutide works, too, much like you. I can eat, but I have more control, and I definitely don't have food noise!

I started at 2mg, then after 5 days I was still not hungry, so I took 1mg. Because it builds up, I figured that around 2mg was my ideal spot.

I slowly increased it by 0.5mg every 10 days.

I felt completely full 12 hours after my first injection, and I haven't felt hunger since. I began three weeks ago

I'm waiting for my first delivery; I'm super anxious about having to mix it and inject myself. But, I'm using a 2.3 mg nicotine patch, and it's completely gotten rid of constant food thoughts and given me energy that I have felt like I've always lacked. You can search for the nicotine patch information online.

The idea is to buy a patch, cut it to the desired serving, and then put the little patch under your arm.
Supposedly it fixes a lot of issues.

My experience with retatrutide has been really good. Even at smaller amounts, it seems to be working well. It helps me get ready to make healthier habits. Depending on the person, the appetite decrease can be inconsistent. My appetite usually goes away the day after I inject, but it comes back later.

I really like that retatrutide doesn't just quiet the constant thoughts of food. Working out also seems to go well with it. I get a subtle energy boost because of its glucagon effect, which is a nice perk when I'm exercising. Most people, from what I've read and seen, find that around 4mg per week is their ideal amount, but everyone is different. My suggestion is to start small, increase it slowly, and find what works for you!

That's the glucagon component, based on what I've been reading.
Anectdotal evidence says that runners using Retatrutide are reporting they are noticeably running faster and more efficiently. Some of that could be because they are lighter, but it's also possible that it's due to the GCGR effect of Retatrutide.
Here are some good sources to read on it:

Someone posted a neat chart a while ago; it showed how each single, double, and triple peptide influenced various GLP-1 effects (excuse my simple language). It showed each strength and weakness, and explained how they worked a bit.
I found it very interesting how it said that semaglutide is better for satiety, while retatrutide leads to more weight loss each month.

I'm only a week in, so I'm honestly surprised at the speed. I feel like my appetite is way easier to control now and the constant thoughts about food are noticeably quieter. The amount I eat has also gone down naturally. I'm hopeful that it will get even better from here!

Mexican meals... I would always eat tons of chips and queso, tacos, guacamole, burritos, everything. Now I can't even look at it!

It is wild how fast these meds can work. I know someone who said the same thing - boom, food has no appeal. Hopefully it evens out for you soon!

I used to really enjoy a charcuterie board with all sorts of cured meats. Now, I can't stand it. The same goes for those cute cupcakes covered in tall frosting. I can't even look at them. Burgers are a definite no. I still enjoy some things like a simple peach cake from the south, although one slice is plenty a couple of times a year. What foods did you used to love that you don't like anymore?
