Reta: Effects on booze?

Tirz almost completely killed my desire to drink. I've been a heavy drinker sometimes, and completely sober other times. This feels like a different thing. I just don't want it, and the bottles have been there for months!

I'm doing Dry January on Tirz, and it's easier than before. I used to think about drinking after work, but now I don't even want it. It's only hard when I'm at the bar with friends or out for dinner. Being around other drinkers makes me want to drink, but it's social, not chemical.

The anti-drinking effects of tirz have lessened for me. I'm disappointed, but I'll keep trying to quit or cut down. I'm sure drinking cancels out the good effects of Tirz, not just weight loss.

That's a shame to hear!

It's died down a bit for me too, and I'm having cravings again, which had disappeared. But I guess this is a chance to practice willpower and find new ways to de-stress without alcohol!

What does a full liver panel include? I can see where a 2021 study found some things, but I don't see medical places using it yet.

I'm not sure all the details. It's more than just AST and ALT. Liver damage can be sneaky and won't show on basic tests until it's advanced.

I agree. The UK researcher mentioned a "fingerprint" pointing to liver issues when ALT and AST are normal, but didn't say which markers. It's like they left out the info on purpose.

Sorry for the confusion. I was talking about tirzepatide's effects in my posts. That effect is much lower now. I can drink through the effects that made me uninterested. For some weeks, I went back to my nightly bottle of wine or beers. I didn't lose weight then.

It's easier to not drink when I'm on tirz. Now that I'm not drinking, the weight is slowly decreasing again.

I tried Reta for several weeks, but my skin was too sensitive. Plus, I was afraid of getting neuropathy again. I also had increased hunger and cravings for sweets, which I didn't like. So, I didn't see how much better Reta was for suppressing alcohol cravings.

Thanks for the reply! I've heard that alcohol cravings aren't as reduced for people who aren't very overweight. I'm slightly overweight, so maybe that's why I haven't seen the lack of interest in alcohol. I saw someone recommend stacking a tiny amount of sema with tirz. I might try that. I'm looking at all options. ❤️

I've only used sema, but it's effective. I've seen stories that sema is the best for addictive behaviors.

I'm very overweight, started at the highest zone and now getting to the middle category. So it might not be true for others.

For me, it's a mix of habits, like a conditioned reflex, a functional type of alcohol use. But still an addiction.

I've been reading about the other benefits of these drugs besides just weight loss/addiction control. Has anyone noticed any?

My dentist said my gums look much better during my last checkup. Also, my hair seems to be growing back, and my skin is clearer and softer. It's been pretty amazing. I've lost about 90 pounds, too. Haven't been this thin or healthy in a long time.

I've also noticed the 'side effect' of not wanting to shop online anymore. I used to get packages all the time, just buying random stuff when I was bored. Now I don't even open the shopping apps.
