Reta kicking hypertension's butt!

About a year ago, my BP was sky high, something like 175/95. After some diet changes and consistent exercise it dropped to 138/86. Now, after about 2 months using Reta and even more weight is gone (thank you very much), it's sitting pretty at 114/77. Literally perfect for a guy my age.

Feeling amazing and it makes me wonder if Reta's helping clear out some arterial fat, maybe even some plaque buildup. Thoughts?

So glad I took control before they wanted to prescribe blood thinners!

I'm really hoping for a similar experience once I hit the 2-month mark with Reta. I've been on BP meds for ages. What dose of Reta are you currently taking, Jim_Now?

Haha, I know Reta is effective, but curing the Plague is a new one!

Jokes aside, that's fantastic news. Weight reduction plays a big role in managing BP, and if Reta adds to that, it's a huge win.

At my last visit, I was down about 28lbs and my BP wasn't crazy high to begin with. Before starting Reta around the summer of 2025, it was maybe 131/89 at 420+lbs (yikes!). At my appointment in November, I was 393lbs and my BP was 105/75. My next annual checkup is in April, hoping for continued good numbers!

It's all just speculation about the plaque, of course, but fat acts like an adhesive, so who knows? Reta is an amazing tool, and I'm really eager to see the outcomes of the clinical trials.

I've been experimenting with GH secretagogues and seeing some interesting results. For years, the gym bros have said they're a waste, but my recent labs show they definitely work. I feel leaner and recomped, with more vascularity. Has anyone else explored these alongside Reta? Any thoughts on the risks of elevated IGF-1 levels from GH secretagogues?

Recent research has shown a U-shaped curve for mortality related to IGF-1. Optimal levels seem to fall in a pretty narrow range, around 150 ng/mL.

Wow, reading about everyone's BP improvements and weight loss success is really inspiring! I'm down to the weight I was in high school. My recent physical showed my metabolic age is like 25, even though I'm 59! I'm focusing on exercise, healthy eating, and JOY! Doctor is amazed.

That's amazing, ATL_Lois! I'm so happy for you. I'm curious, did your physical include a DEXA scan? I've been reading about how weight loss can alter DNA methylation and other biomarkers, very interesting stuff!
