Reta kinda working? Still unsure...

Hey everyone, continuing the log. Yesterday was day 6. Took my 0.5 mg, but felt hungry after a bit. Thought about upping it to 2 mg per week, splitting it into two doses. So I took another 0.5 mg later. This morning I'm feeling a little nauseous and my stomach's heavy. Could this be a sign that it's starting to kick in? But I still crave pizza. I've read some people forget to eat! What's your experience been like?

Sounds like a common side effect, @Bee_Quest, from Reta and similar meds. Assuming you haven't changed anything else in your diet or added new supplements. It can fade over time, or maybe not. Reta often takes a few weeks to really show its stuff. But this varies for everyone. I had some mild nausea when I started at 1mg, and again going to 2mg, but now on 4mg I rarely feel it.

I'd suggest sticking to a regular schedule. Splitting the dose twice a week seems reasonable. I did that at first, now I just do one dose weekly.

You're just at the beginning, @Bee_Quest. Retatrutide needs time to accumulate in your system. The first month is really about preparing your body for the full effects. Keep reading the forum and maybe look into the clinical trials for retatrutide. Patience and consistency are key.

The initial couple of months are a low dose to get used to the peptide. Too much, too fast, can lead to side effects, especially a faster heart rate. You're on a low dose. I haven't tried Reta yet, but my research suggests it's the best of the GLPs, so don't stress. I've heard it really starts working between 2 and 4mg. I've also heard Tirz is better at suppressing appetite than Reta. Be careful not to overeat; I can get sick for a day if I do.

There's a common idea that weight loss is all about eating less, and the less you eat, the faster you'll lose weight. It's not that simple.

It's a hard belief to shake, but think about it: If it were just about calories, why would anyone choose Reta over sema or tirz? Those suppress appetite more effectively, but Reta often leads to better results.

I find the different reactions people have to GLPs fascinating. Sema did almost nothing for my appetite, but Reta shut it down completely within 6 hours of my first 1 mg dose. I have to force myself to eat, can't eat much, and I have zero interest in alcohol. It's a total 180 for me.

If you're hungry, eat something. If it's not just boredom, don't ignore your body. Just make sure you eat healthy foods. I usually grill a steak or chicken and don't even finish it all. Then I keep the rest to snack on later when I'm a bit hungry.

I'm starting to think the cool thing about Reta is that even if you feel hunger, you get full super fast once you start eating. So it helps you moderate, but doesn't starve you.

I dropped a bunch of water weight early on, and my weight went up and down. If I remember correctly, it took a couple weeks for the appetite effects to kick in for me, and even then it didn't completely kill my appetite. That was at 2mg a week. It got better when I went up to 4mg.

I'm seeing more and more folks saying Reta is the real deal. Less side effects, better fat loss. Has anyone checked out the Chinese suppliers? I'm considering ordering some for myself.

My girlfriend and I use a low dose (2.5mg) just to keep cravings down and get a slight boost to our metabolism. Keeps our fat levels in check. I always have a bit more belly fat than I like, though!

Wow reading all this has been very helpful! Thank you so much to everyone who answered. I'll try to just be consistent and patient!

Just a note on a related issue, I've heard reports of reduced libido when taking Reta due to reduced dopamine production in the gut. Something to be aware of.

Honestly planned on four weeks at point-five but if it's still working right after four weeks no need to bump up. Goal weight 200, not trying to drop five weekly.

I still have what I bought during the 2024 rush. My appetite increased, cravings for sugar came back, but nowhere close to how bad it was. Held steady nine months now. Scared if I lower it I'll start binging. Never heard of palpitations from this. Got it sitting on the dose that worked here.

Is your overall weight steady or climbing? If it's holding, the dose is still helping even if less noticeably. May not need an increase to get same benefit though.

Been 5-plus years and stopped working for hunger suppression years back. Still works really well for my type 2 diabetes so I keep injecting 2mg every 5th day.
