Reta makin' me needle shy?

Been injecting peptides every other day since May, usually no problem. But lately, especially since starting Reta a few weeks ago, even a tiny poke feels like a bee sting! Now I gotta hunt around for a good spot. Could it be the Reta? Or maybe the KLOW I started last week??

Could be the Reta, but honestly, WellWin, it's probably a bit of both the medication and your mind playing tricks, anticipating the pain.

Sensitivity is a known side effect for some, not super common, but happens. I've had it happen before. Luckily, from what I've heard, it usually fades after a couple of weeks.

I don't have injection pain, but since starting, it feels like I have sunburn on my arms and back constantly. Not really painful, just any touch is kinda uncomfortable. I'm on my fifth 2mg shot every 6 days and it's still here! I can manage, but some people wouldn't.

That skin sensitivity is real. On me, it's mainly on my legs and moves around. Not stopping me, though. I'm hoping it goes away soon.

That sounds like allodynia. You might try dropping back a little on the dose until it fades. I usually see it happen when people are at higher doses or go up too fast. Happened to me at 8mg/week total. I switched to 2mg Mon, Wed, and 3mg Fri and it went away. Maybe try 1mg a week, or splitting your 2mg into two doses.

I started every 7 days but my hunger came back before the next shot. Maybe I should go back to that? Or split like you are. Maybe it's building up since I am shooting every 6 days at the full dose. I didn't have this at first, now that I think about it.

I'm pretty sensitive to these meds, and most meds, actually. Weight comes off fast at low doses. Kinda a mixed blessing.

I wish I lost weight so easily! I stall out after a couple weeks at each dose. Going up 2mg this week since I'm gaining again and the allodynia is gone. Going from Mon 2, Wed 2, Fri 3 to Mon 3, Wed 3, Friday 3. I have two 30mg vials left, if I don't have better results by the time they are gone, I may try Tirz, or add some Cagrilintide to the Reta to help with cravings. I don't understand how people lose on tiny doses like .5 - 1mg. I assume they are already at their goal weight and using that for maintenance.

I've been on 1mg Reta for two weeks and a couple days ago my belly started feeling mildly sunburned. Not really a bother, just weird. (When you get old enough, weird feelings become a hobby.)

Now I have this crawling feeling on my skin. Always where elastic touches, like my clothes are crawling with ants... Mostly at night, which is not fun.

I sometimes get that too. But I'm a redhead, and it only happens when I get a little sun. Not a full sunburn, just almost sunburn feeling, like my skin is too tight.

I had pretty bad skin sensitivity and tingling for the first 8 weeks. By 10 weeks, it was way better, almost gone. Then I took a 3 week break for a trip abroad. When I started back up, it never came back! Hopefully, it's gone for good, but it's only been a couple weeks.

Interesting. I used to be a redhead before it turned white. I wonder if allodynia is linked somehow?

Redhead here! Now more pale and freckled, but still. My ginger skin has always been sensitive. Never thought about the connection! I also keep checking the bed for phantom ants. I tell myself it's part of getting healthy again.

Apparently, according to Mayo Clinic, allodynia can be caused by a vitamin deficiency, particularly D and/or B vitamins. My doctor put me on supplements for both when I started tirz. I'm going to up my dose of both and see if it helps. I'll keep you posted.
