Reta newbie here - anyone else?

Alright, folks, I finally jumped in and got a vial of Reta (6mg) to start with microdosing. After reading a ton, I'm hoping this will help me drop around 10-15 pounds.

My stats: 5'6", about 140 lbs.

Like so many moms, I feel like I've kind of lost myself in motherhood. I used to be proud of my athletic shape, but I'm struggling to keep it up while dealing with a toddler, a demanding job, and a partner who is always working.

To be clear, I'm pretty active. I lift weights 4 days a week with some cardio thrown in. I generally eat well, but I definitely have a sweet tooth 🙃.

My plan is to mix with 1.2ml of BAC water and start with 10 units (0.5mg) each week for a couple of weeks, then see how it goes. I might bump it up to 1mg/week if I need to.

Honestly, I'm a little scared about the whole thing, but I'm also optimistic. I worry about the quality and safety of the Reta, and I want to get the most for my money.

If you've used Reta for similar reasons, I'd love to hear your story. What side effects did you experience? Did you increase the dose, and how fast? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I went with 1mg for 14 days initially (was concerned about a racing heart). On sema my resting heart rate went from the low 50s to around 72, so I was worried Reta would make it even worse! No increase in heart rate on 1mg, so after 2 weeks I increased to 2 mg. I stayed at 2 mg for a month, then 4 mg for another month, and now I'm at 6 mg. My resting heart rate gets to maybe 61-62 at the start of the week, then it's down to 59-60 by the end, so nothing crazy. I gained maybe 10 pounds when I stopped sema, and until the Reta started working, I was at 155, and now I'm down to 142. The food noise has completely disappeared, and I can hardly eat a bite. I wasn't careful and didn't consider the 6 mg overfill of the 24 mg vial, so I've probably been taking 7.5 mg instead of 6 mg (I'm going to redo the calculations for the next dose since the appetite suppression isn't healthy!).

For the first few weeks, I had some mild back pain, but that's gone now. Allodynia is pretty wild! Most of my skin hurts a bit (though it's getting better this week). Constipation is about the same as on sema. That's it for me when it comes to side effects. My bloodwork looked fine on Sema, but I haven't tested it since starting Reta, so I don't know if anything's changed.

Don't expect huge weight loss if you don't have much to lose to begin with (the people dropping 10 lbs in two weeks are considerably heavier!). See this as something long term to help improve your health. Slow and steady is the best way to lose weight. I'd suggest sticking to the recommended titration schedule and only increasing if you need to.

Good luck with Reta. I hope it goes well for you.

I didn't notice any appetite suppression benefits until the fourth week at 4 mg. Even then, it wasn't a lot! Like I mentioned, I didn't account for the 6 mg overfill on the 24mg vial of Reta, so I'm probably taking about 7.5mg. The appetite suppression now is incredible—I have literally zero desire to eat, and a few bites is too much. Going to be sure to get closer to 6 mg this week.

When you get to the right dose for you, it'll happen. Just be patient!

Welcome! I started on a similar plan. 0.5 mg for two weeks, then 1mg for weeks 3-7. I just bumped up to 1.5 mg for my 8th shot. Other than an initial drop in water weight, I've been losing 1-1.5 pounds each week, which I think is fine.

I'm sharing this tracker that does a good job of showing how much is in your system on any given day. https://glp1plotter.com/ I like checking it when I'm thinking about changing my dose.

My other tip for anyone new is to let your vial warm up a bit before injecting your next dose. Apparently, injecting when the rubber stopper is cold and hard can dull the tiny needles enough to make the injection hurt a little. Once I changed that, I haven't had any issues.

Hey! I'm also starting out on reta, and here's how it's going so far:
w1: 1mg - nothing noticeable, no weight change
w2: 2mg - way more energy; I'm able to get through my 6km run without stopping, I'm running faster, very slight appetite reduction, no weight change
w3: 3m - tbc!

I also saw that in w2 I got a red, blotchy rash at the injection site. I was told that might be because I injected it cold. This week, I let it come to room temp before injecting.

Hi everyone, I'm also just starting out. My doc put me on Ozempic a few days ago. I'm hoping to drop a significant amount of weight – currently around 205 lbs.

Anyone else just starting? Would be great to share notes.

This is so true! I think it's really important to have realistic expectations and focus on overall health. I'm trying to think of this as something that will help me maintain a healthy lifestyle long-term, not just a quick fix.

Has anyone here tried Klow80? I'm wondering if the color is normal - I just got some powder that has a slight blue tint to it. Is that how it's supposed to look or is something off?

The forum helps so much. Your posts make sense and youre braver than you think for asking questions. Zippy built something really solid here.

Microdosing at 0.5-1mg on a 6mg vial is the approach that minimizes the adaptation window - most newbies who go slow at the start report fewer first-week GI issues and a cleaner read on their response ceiling.
