Reta noob - dosing questions

There's no real need to dose more than once a week if you can handle the side effects. The drug was designed for weekly dosing; it's more effective that way. Stick to the same dose for at least 4 weeks to reach a stable level in your system.

I think it's worth exploring multiple times per week if sides are an issue. This really allows you to titrate up slower and see what is happening. It's not one size fits all.

The daily microdosing approach does come up in discussions, and the pharmacokinetic rationale is around maintaining more stable plasma levels versus a single weekly peak. The tradeoff is injection burden and more complex tracking. At 3mg weekly you're at a reasonable dose - splitting into twice weekly is more common than daily in most protocols.

1mg for 4 weeks then 2mg on week 5 is a standard starting protocol. Splitting into two doses per week rather than one is worth considering if side effects become a factor - keeps levels more consistent and can smooth out any fatigue peaks. Tracking the weekly average weight from the start gives you the cleanest read on whether it's working.

starting split dosing on tirz and then moving to once weekly as the dose climbed is actually the reverse of what a lot of people do. for reta at 1mg, the split versus full weekly is a useful experiment early on. the food noise signal at mid-week is the clearest tell of whether the split is holding the level between doses or if it's fading.
