The escalation sequence described is genuinely too compressed - 2.5 to 5 to 12mg without adequate time at each level means you're attributing effects and side effects to a dose you've never actually stabilized at. The 'not working' conclusion is premature when the protocol hasn't been stable long enough to generate reliable signal. Holding each dose for a minimum of four weeks before drawing conclusions is the right framework.
