Reta: Split Doses vs. Weekly?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Really depends on your situation. Sounds like you might match my pattern, food doesn't stay on my mind constantly, but once I eat, portions tend to balloon. Landed on reta, currently 1.5mg every three days, kept my portions closer to normal.

My wife started tirz instead and said food basically left her mind entirely, which might contradict your comment about swinging between overeating and barely eating. My daughter tried sema, being under 18 it was the only option open to her then, technically worked but hit her hard. Stopped once she couldn't eat and felt sick for days after each shot, holding around 1mg for a short stretch. She's on 4mg tirz now, split into two doses, doing well there.

Would give reta a genuine window, several months minimum, before drawing conclusions.

Genuinely can't wrap my head around why people default to once weekly dosing. Half-life sits around six days. That whole receptor desensitization concern is overblown in my view. Splitting the dose has worked really well for me personally.

Just sharing what's worked for me personally. Running a half amount twice weekly, spaced out to exactly 3.5 days, Tuesday morning and Friday evening. Right now that's 3.5mg per shot, and I've been doing this for a bit over two months. Since the half-life runs around five days, this keeps things more level in my system. Also seems to have all but eliminated my side effects. That said, twice-weekly dosing hasn't gone through official study the way weekly has, so there could be risks nobody's identified yet.
