Reta transition woes?

Just pinned my first 2.5mg dose of Reta today. My last 10mg shot of Mounjaro was about 5 days ago. Anyone else experience a temporary increase in cravings when switching over, before the Reta really kicks in?

I haven't tried Reta yet, but I hear it doesn't suppress appetite as well as Tirz does. Some people add on Cagrilintide to help with the food noise, if it becomes an issue.

So far, bridging from Tirz to Reta, getting my Reta levels up where they should be based on the trial data, has kept my hunger and food cravings totally in check. It's been about 10 days since I took any extra Tirz. My Tirz level is around 1.3mg right now, and I don't think I'll need any more. I've lost about 11-12 lbs in the last three weeks since starting Reta at 1mg.

I switched from Sema to Reta, stopping the Sema about a month before starting Reta. It took until I hit 8mg to see any real weight loss, and I lost it all at that dose. Appetite suppression started around 6mg. It's pretty typical to need higher doses to get an effect when you've been on another GLP beforehand. But once I found the right dose, I reached my goal weight pretty easily, so don't give up! Also, remember it takes about a month for each dose to fully take effect.

Just to be clear, it takes around 4-5 weeks at a certain weekly dose to reach a steady state where the intake rate and elimination rate are balanced. That's why a weekly dose gives you a consistent average level of exposure.

I wouldn't take that as gospel. Reta responses are all over the map. Sema barely touched my appetite, but Reta shut it down completely. When I started at 2mg a week, I had to force myself to eat just to get enough calories. Everyone needs to figure out their own response instead of depending on other people's experiences, especially with these peptides. You just never know.

What dose of Tirz were you taking when you started bridging to Reta, Stevie_1988? I'm doing the same thing now, and was only on 12.5mg of Tirz, but I'd like Reta to do its thing for a couple months to get past this stall. I tried going up to 15mg of Tirz for a bit, but didn't really notice any difference, so I went back down and decided to try Reta.

Sorry, I missed that earlier. I was just shy of a month on Tirz, taking 2.5mg twice a week. I took a couple more doses of Tirz to help bridge before my Reta levels were high enough to take over. No side effects except for feeling a little cold. Tomorrow will be four weeks since I started the bridge, and I’m down 10 lbs. I was down 13 lbs the other day, but I’ve had a 3 lb bounce. Probably just water weight.

I was on 2.5mg of Zepbound weekly until I hit my goal. Responded really well to the starting dose. Switched cold turkey to 2mg of Reta. I did notice a slight increase in food noise, but it's not too bad. I'm eating more protein and my fat percentage hasn't gone up, but my muscle mass has increased. I think the glucagon aspect of Reta might be compensating.

I'm kinda nervous to start Reta after reading about the sulfur burps. Is that really as bad as people say?
It's different for everyone. Some get them, some don't. If you do, try smaller meals and avoid high-fat stuff.

Thanks everyone for the input! I'm hoping the food noise settles down soon. I'm trying to focus on protein and stay hydrated.

I've noticed that my other meds seem to act differently since starting GLP-1s. Anyone else experience this? It's like my anxiety med isn't working as well.

Yes! I've heard that GLP-1s can slow down digestion, which can affect how your body absorbs other meds. Definitely something to talk to your doctor about.

Don't increase your dose too fast! It's better to go up slowly, like only 0.25mg at a time, and listen to your body. The manufacturer's schedule can be too aggressive, especially that jump to 1mg!

started 0.25 mg last week. got some nausea the night after, which is why i'm thinking wednesday instead of tuesday next time. can i push it back a day, or does the schedule have to be exact?

yeah, the shipping on the first order costs something but it's still way less than you'd pay retail or compounded. keep in mind though—some people can't handle these meds at all or need to titrate faster than planned to see benefits. lots of unknowns.

my chart right there. 2mg mots-c three times a week and 12.5mg tirz once a week. mountain biking four to seven days plus crossfit five days a week.
