Reta transition woes?

I did 1500–1700 for the first 8 months and lost 70. Now I'm holding around 1700–2k and haven't budged in 4 months. Still want to drop 5–10 more but protein first, every time. My nutritionist said 100g at 1700 cal minimum.
 
Missed doses can trigger withdrawal and these meds slow digestion so your other meds don't absorb right — feels like your dose dropped. This is more about stabilizing than pushing thru. Your doc can adjust timing or dose or even pause. Brain zaps usually settle once levels even out, takes a few days.
 
starting small and disappointed is the reta story for a lot of people who came from mounjaro. the comparison is really hard because mounjaro's early response is strong. increasing more quickly through the lower doses is where the reta experience tends to change - the effects show up differently at higher doses than people expect from the starting ones.
 
third reta injection at 1mg and appetite still good is actually the pattern that makes the OP's 2.5mg question the right one to ask. the Mounjaro-to-reta transition with the appetite coming back is the most common concern. if you're 3 in at 1mg and the appetite is under control, that's a better start than most. whether to stay on reta or layer back in Mounjaro comes down to how the next few weeks develop.
 
The 'changed habits while on it will persist after stopping' claim is worth scrutinizing - the behavioral changes during GLP-1 use are partly chemical and partly genuine habit formation. The ratio of each depends on the individual, and the only way to find out is carefully stepping down and observing.
 
the increased heart rate as a reason to hold off on reta for now is actually worth listening to. the OP going from 10mg Mounjaro straight to 2.5mg reta in 5 days is a fast transition and the cravings people mention in the first couple weeks on reta are almost always the mounjaro withdrawal piece rather than reta causing new cravings. give it a few weeks before deciding what's reta and what's the switch.
 
Reta paired with elora has been a surprisingly strong combo for me. Coming off a high tirz dose and starting fresh on a moderate reta amount alongside a matching elora dose, and honestly the appetite suppression feels just as strong as tirz was, maybe even more so.
