Rybelsus - one month in!

Hey everyone! Figured I'd share my experience after a month on the Rybelsus:

Starting Weight: 164.2
Current Weight: 159.2
Goal Weight: 130.0

It's been pretty good so far! Minimal side effects on the lowest dose – surprisingly, no nausea at all! I had some minor stomach issues around week 2, and I get full really fast, sometimes mid-meal.

One thing I've noticed is that in the beginning, I really didn't want to eat certain foods (like pizza), but that seems to be fading. Maybe it's just because I'm on a low dose. Sharing in case it helps anyone else trying the pills. Have a good one!

I'm on day 10 and I've already lost about 4 pounds, but the side effects have been intense. I'm usually pretty sensitive to medication, but this past week has been rough. I've been throwing up and feeling nauseous all the time and not hungry at all. Losing 4 pounds in a week seems like a lot, and it's probably mostly because I can't eat anything without throwing up. I'm not saying this to scare anyone, but it's definitely working!

That's great! I'm in my second month. I started on 1.5mg and lost about 10 pounds. I moved up to the 7mg tablet, and I haven't lost anything yet, which is weird, in my opinion.

I was on Zepbound before my insurance cut me off, and I dropped about 35lbs. Now I'm on the Rybelsus, and I feel like garbage and I’m constantly thinking about food. Zepbound was way better for me, especially since I have really bad sleep apnea.

I'm curious if you switched from another GLP-1 to the pill and how different it is. I'm on sema now and the constipation is terrible. I want to switch to the pill and I found a good doctor who can prescribe it. It sounds like it's better than sema so far.

I just finished my first month too. I'm happy with losing about 1-2 pounds a week, and I haven't had many side effects after the first couple of weeks, so I'm going to stick with 1.5 mg for now and see what happens. My insurance doesn't cover it, so I used a discount card at my local pharmacy (about $150 for 1.5 mg, it goes up with the dose). So if I stay on the lowest dose, it'll be $150. I think it's better to see a doctor instead of getting it online so they can watch out for any problems.

I eat pretty normal amounts at meals, but I don't snack much. I think about it, but then I forget. I've been using a fiber supplement for constipation. It doesn't have any taste, so it's easy to use.

Running a second 21-day round at 1 mg epitalon since the first batch was underfilled. Pretty sure it's helping. Knock out within minutes of turning off the lights and getting horizontal.

I'm trying to work up the nerve to start the pill! I have a couple of questions about the lowest dose. I'm hoping to use this to build new habits, not just lose weight. Is that realistic? Also, can I skip a pill on a weekend for a wedding and start again after? Do people split the pill at first, or just take the whole thing? Any advice is welcome!

Same here. The first week was great. I didn't have cravings for bad food. But then they slowly came back. Maybe it's because I'm not eating enough protein.

I don't think I'm having any side effects, and I'm not feeling less hungry or fuller for longer. It's been a week. I take it first thing in the morning with water and wait 2 hours before eating or drinking anything else. I still have cravings though.

I had to stop taking the 7mg tablet after 7 days because I couldn't keep anything down, and I had to miss work and time with my kid. I was okay on 1.5mgs, so I hope I can go back to that dose.

For those new to oral semaglutide, it's super important to understand the special instructions. They aren't kidding about taking it on an empty stomach with a full glass of water, and waiting before eating or drinking anything else. This affects absorption. This is why the timing and routine are so important. Don't skip the education that doctors hand out!

I feel like I’m not having any side effects or reduction in food noise, feeling full faster/longer. i’ve been on it for a week. I wake up and I take it right away with water and wait 2 hours for max absorbing then I drink coffee ( sometimes ) or i’ll have lunch. I feel like my cravings are still there tho

Maybe try cutting out the coffee for a bit? I know it sucks, but caffeine can mess with your hunger signals and maybe interfere with the medication. Just a thought!

I read an article about how new obesity treatments are in clinical trials as pills. Maybe this will change the weight loss landscape.
