Scale Obsession? Nah, Clothes!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
warning: used the med purely for weight loss, paid out of pocket. i'm asian so naturally smaller. started 59kg in november with 48kg goal—hit it as of april 2026. 11kg off in five months, zero nausea or constipation or side stuff. still on 1mg weekly with two months of pens left. curious what others do at goal weight—maintenance doses spaced out or stop completely?

Months in a stall and switching focus to the clothes and the non-scale wins is exactly the right mental pivot!! The scale plateau while clothes change is the body recomposing rather than stalling, and most people miss it because they're watching the wrong number. Keep going - the scale will follow!!

Congrats! Lots of us feel this way. My scale hates me and my mirror lies to me, so it comforts me that I need smaller denim AND my blood pressure is back in a healthy zone. We will make it, friend.

Go easy on yourself. Scales can set some people off, and when you can't bring yourself to look at one today, that's totally okay. Lots of folks track by how their clothes fit or by measurements instead. I don't love that some replies push you to weigh in even though it upsets you. And apps like Shotsy are only for you, so use them however suits you.

The moment I cut my dose to almost nothing I gained 4lbs, and another 3lbs the following week, yet my pants hang off me. I'm learning the scale is a poor guide in maintenance, so I stay with InBody scans and how clothes fit.

Tend to buy clothes with a little give rather than anything too fitted, stuff that still looks decent through a five kilo swing either way. Jeans with a bit of stretch, elastic waistbands, loose dresses with a belt. Grabbed a pair in a size 12 early on once the weight loss got noticeable, and they're already too loose now, while most other things I've bought still fit, more like a 10 to 12. 5'4, 60kg currently. Also unsure how long I'll keep budget for this medication or what else might change, so I avoid anything tightly fitted with zero room, fits my usual loose style anyway. Don't be surprised if your shape ends up different than expected even while getting slimmer. Used to be embarrassed about my legs when younger, now in my fifties I look like I've got bird legs.
