Scared to start Ozempic!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Did you take that anti-nausea medication before symptoms hit or after? Haven't done my first dose of the single-pathway medication yet (starting in three weeks), but I've used that anti-nausea drug before, and from my experience it needs to go in before you actually start feeling ill. Tempted to take one ahead of my first shot and keep it in my system through the first day, but also curious how I'd handle things without it. Genuinely scared of getting sick like that though. Read, and heard from a pharmacist, that your body can need a couple doses to adjust. Also starting at the smallest entry amount, which worries me too. So sorry you went through that. Hoping the next one treats you way better!

Severe emetophobia here, the fear of throwing up is genuinely overwhelming, borderline unbearable. But this particular medication has never triggered that side effect, started at a higher weight and now down considerably. Genuinely love this medication. Worth trying! The starting dose they use is really gentle.

Hoping the symptoms stay manageable for you. Are you feeling okay overall right now? If you're seriously considering trying the medication, I'd suggest connecting with a healthcare provider first so they can run bloodwork and hopefully get you started on the right amount from day one.

OP, the GI side effects scared me silly at the start as well. Reading about them on this forum stressed me out badly. Nothing close to the misery some describe has happened to me, mild at most, and manageable. Reflux is my worst issue, and it predates Ozempic anyway, so I simply avoid eating close to bedtime. Dont put off starting over imagined problems. Trust the process. Start low, move slowly, I havent followed the titration schedule and Im still losing. Eight weeks at 0.25 came first, currently 0.37, and it stays there until my loss tapers, then I go up. It also makes pens last longer and eases side effects, and I stay full with quiet food noise.
