Sema 1-Year Update

Total dropped on sema: ~55 pounds

I started semaglutide around mid-August last year, and I'm still taking 1.25mg. I'm about 30lbs away from my goal weight. I initially dropped about 50+ lbs before starting sema. I had this old t-shirt that I couldn't put on. It's a size large. I have an apron belly, so the shirt is snug across my hips, but it's gradually getting looser. I'm hoping I can stop taking the meds completely by next summer.

What's been working for me:

Tracking calories/macros (~1800-2000kcal), therapy, semaglutide, and going to the gym 3-4x a week doing weights with a little cardio. Lots of water, no extra supplements except collagen for skin/joints. A fairly high-protein diet, nothing too wild. I eat what I want, but I make sure I track it. My PMS cravings are still there and hit hard sometimes, even with the meds. Otherwise, I don't notice many side effects. I get some diarrhea usually the day after my injection but I feel fine besides that.

Ask away!

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your journey on the community!

Just a quick reminder about the rules. We can't talk about semaglutide that isn't approved by the FDA, and buying or selling meds is a no-go, including through DMs. Don't answer or ask for DMs from anyone trying to sell stuff. They're not supported by this group.

If you're new, check out the .

Wow, a year on sema! That's an awesome transformation. Would you mind if I shared this on the community? We're putting together GLP-1 before and after posts so people can find them easily. Of course, you can post it there yourself if you'd rather.

Do you find that electrolytes help with that at all? Maybe something like LMNT or just a sugar-free sports drink?

It's so inspirational to see people succeeding with this medication! I'm down about 25 pounds since spring. The meds coupled with consistent workouts have been life-changing. Blood work also improved!

I'm always curious about what happens after people reach their goal weight and stop the meds. Anyone worried about regaining?

Hey ZepboundZen, that's definitely a concern for me. I'm hoping that by continuing the habits I've built – the diet, exercise and the therapy – I can keep the weight off. It's all about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, I guess!
