Sema almost a year 30+ down

I was on sema from last November to July. Started at .25mg, moved to .5mg. I began around 210lbs (see pics below). Now I'm at 178, stopped in July. Feeling good and hitting the gym. Still wanna lose maybe 15-20lbs.

I've lost about 45lbs in a year. Honestly, it's kinda discouraging. Seems like most people are dropping weight way faster. So it's good to see someone else with similar progress.

Awesome job! I'm at about 30lbs down in 9 months! It's hard when you see people losing that much in like, 2 months, but I try to remember that slow and steady wins the race. This is the most I've ever lost at once!

I've actually lost about 20lbs over 7 months. Haven't lost anything in maybe 5-6 weeks now. Was on 0.25 for 3 months, then 0.5 for 3, and just bumped up to 0.75. My A1C went from 6.0 to 5.3. I'm 5'8", started at 199lbs, currently 178.5lbs, and aiming for 150lbs by April 2026.

I'd love to try this stuff, but I'm scared of gaining it all back. My pharmacist family members say it'll all come back. Any long-term users willing to share their experience? Also, losing .5-1lb a week is doable without meds (though hard), so how does this stuff help? Is it really about appetite suppression and quieting food noise?

I totally get that fear! I think the key is to use the med to help you build new habits. It's not just about the appetite suppression, it's about learning how to eat and live differently so you can maintain the loss after.

Congrats on the milestone. Long recovery is huge. Ive noticed fewer compulsive patterns myself on this too, and my executive function feels sharper. Really does seem to help beyond just appetite control. Good luck with your path.

restarting takes longer and often needs higher dose. had 8 surgeries on this med—lipedema, kidney tumors, breast tumors. docs said max 2 weeks off, then back on to fight inflammation.

Used a meal service for over a year, kept ordering the same fish. Thought it would help my numbers but just ate too much of it. Now I'd skip meals rather than touch it again. They got stuck with my habit. Did order other things though, their meatloaf was solid.

SW 203 to CW 123 is an 80-lb result and the lipid panel following the loss is the metabolic outcome skeptics tend to miss. Almost a year of sema then another 50+ lb push is a two-phase arc worth tracking.
