the unit conversion question trips up almost everyone switching between the standard pen and a syringe draw system - the number on the barrel is in units not mg, and the conversion requires knowing the specific concentration of what you reconstituted or what the compounding pharmacy provided. running the math through a calculator using the concentration information on your vial label is exactly the right approach; the alternative is guessing and that is not a good approach with this class of medication
