Sema + life changes = size 8!

I kicked off sema back in June '23, almost a year ago. I don't have any 'before' pictures from when I was around 270, but this one's from December 1st when I was hovering around 215. In January, I decided to really commit after dropping about 55 pounds. I joined a high-intensity group workout, committing at least 4 days a week, then bumping it up to 5 after a couple of weeks. A friend told me that everyone has the same 24 hours in a day, so dedicate one hour to the gym. So I did it, and im still doing it. Now I'm weighing in around 175, down almost 100 pounds in a year, and I feel amazing. If my bone-idle can do it, anyone can. I'd rather be on the sofa scoffing cake, but I'm choosing to make the correct choices every day. Honestly, most days I still don't want to!

You've obviously been working hard - that back definition is impressive. Well done! BTW, you looked amazing back then too. I don't have any underwear pics of me at my heaviest.

You killed it! You achieved my goal. It was great to read this today. I wanted to read something from another girl who was almost 300 and made it to the 150s. I'm proud of you, and of myself too. I'm trying to reach what you have.

For everyone asking about the routine, I do a lot of HIIT. Like, burpees, jump squats, mountain climbers. I try to mix in weights 2-3 days a week focusing on different muscle groups each time. And @In_The_Making, size 16 was my size in December just before I really started going hard. Starting size was probably closer to an 18 or 20. Hard to say for sure!

I'm only a month and a half in. Cutting calories to about 1600 a day and working out most days, running and lifting weights. Mostly walking but I'm trying to get better on the bike. Down from 278 to 258 so far! Still have a ways to go, but I'm happy.

Switched to every 5 days for better control on my end. Thinking the half-life might be playing a role in managing things smoother that way. Seen others tinker with timing for the same reason.

Progress is always worth celebrating. Are you happy now or do you see more work to do? Sometimes when you get close to a goal you realize there's still miles to go, and that's okay.
