Sema not working? Help!

Hey everyone, I've been on semaglutide for about a month and a half now. I'm on a low dose, like 0.25mg, because I was worried about the side effects and the cost to titrate up. I'm paying around $200 a month through a clinic. I lost maybe 8lbs in the first few weeks, but I've already regained about 4 of those. I feel less hungry and get full quicker, and my clothes fit a little better, but the scale isn't moving much. I started drinking more water and eating more fiber today. I also work out three to four times a week. I used to take phentermine and dropped like 25 pounds in a month, so this slower pace with semaglutide kinda sucks. I see people losing insane amounts of weight really fast. Any tips?

It's pretty common not to see big changes until you're on a higher dose. People who lose 50lbs in a month probably weighed a lot to begin with or are doing things that aren't safe. Healthy weight loss is more like 1% of your body weight per week. I'd also say you're overpaying. There are other providers and ways to save $$$.

I've been on 0.25mg for two months and lost around 10lbs, but I had to make huge changes to my diet, walk more, and be in a calorie deficit.

I'm gonna try to walk 8000-10000 steps daily, in addition to my workouts. Because I am pretty sedentary outside of that.

Hey ShapePath, six weeks at 0.25mg is just the starting dose. It's designed to let your body adjust, not for major weight loss. So, losing 8 pounds at the beginning is a great response.

The phentermine experience is completely different. It's faster but harder to keep the weight off. Noticing your waist is smaller and your stamina is improving are better signs than those 3lbs you regained. The stories of people losing 50 pounds in a month aren't typical. If you're handling it well, talk about increasing the dose. What you're seeing so far isn't failing.

Every time my weight loss slows down, I start tracking my calories again. I find I'm not losing because I'm eating the same amount of calories that I burn.

Calculate your TDEE and track your calories carefully for a few days to see if you need to adjust things.

Are you burning enough calories through exercise? It will work great with working out! Now that it has been about 6 weeks , you can go up to the following dose. It is going well with me. I burn 750-1000 calories in the gym every day

Don't forget it can take a while for it to really kick in. It took about a month before I saw much happening. The second month, I'll go a week or two with no changes, then lose 3-5 pounds. It sucks when it's slow, but it stays off better that way. I'd increase your dose after a month or two.

It's important to have patience. It took me a little bit to see results I was happy with. I weigh myself daily and keep that in one app. I keep my measurements and weekly weight in another. That way I can see how food affects me, but that I can also look at the overall picture by the weekly weight.

some folks i know had rough times on ozempic but bounced back better on a different brand. might be worth asking your doctor about switching.
